Instead of being motivated by “the spirit of the world,” we are led by God’s spirit, which produces in us such qualities as love and self-control. (1 Cor. 2:12; Gal. 5:22, 23) These assist us in withstanding the Devil’s assaults on our faith. He wants us to become “heated up only to do evil,” but God’s spirit helps us to “let anger alone and leave rage.” (Ps. 37:8) Our anger could result in sin if we remained in a provoked state. Our having this frame of mind would give the Devil a chance to promote discord in the congregation or incite us to engage in evil deeds. Hence, we need quickly to settle differences with others in a godly way. (Lev. 19:17, 18; Matt. 5:23, 24; 18:15, 16) Let us, therefore, be guided by God’s spirit, exercising self-control and never letting even justifiable anger degenerate into bitterness, malice, and hatred.

while an evil spirit is authorized to flow right into a individual, that individual will regularly bable and writhe on the floor uncontrollably. the guy who has the Holy Spirit in them, is in complete administration of themselves. it extremely is Biblical - no longer a hypothesis.

If it comes from within, from the heart it is the Holy Spirit; On the other hand if you hear it in your ears or its just in your head,it's an evil spirit...I mean if God is prompting you to go to a dangerous part of the world to be a missionary the prompting will come from within you.If you hear that in your ears or its just in your head , don't go.

The Holy Spirit will NEVER encourage you to do anything wrong or harmful. The Holy Spirit is our guide to living a life that pleases God.

I think if you have the armor of God, the devil is already disable to do anything to you even to give you whispers,
also praying and being consecrated to God will help avoid that.

I have never gotten very good at it. I have a tough time knowing which is which. So I pray this prayer to God when I don't know what to do. Then I act on it and trust Him for the result. Here is the prayer that I learned from a pastor:
"Lord, impress upon my heart that which you would have me to do in this situation. Cause me to act upon your will only. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray..Amen."
Then I trust Him for the rest. I sleep better this way.
Good question by the way!
Good luck!

the Holy Spirit does not actually talk but he works through the Scriptures to strengthen your faith so you can really tell the difference there

You think that is a tough question? All that is good is from God. God is the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is God and also the Son Jesus is God and God is Jesus.

I don't know about others but when I am in doubt about something I ask myself if Jesus would approve of what I am going to say or do.
