I am quite serious in asking, as the word meek has always been a hard one for me as I was born with an ESTJ personality which is a leader personality, CEO type, and if we look at how people operated in the Bible, God's leaders, they were not always meek as I think of the word. Exhortation includes holding one accountable, as well as cheering one on, just as parents do for their children, they encourage good behavior and usually have consequences for poor behavior. What human behavior would be seen as "meekness in spirit" thanks

In the world's eyes, meekness is a sign of weakness- however in God's eyes it is a sign a strength. WHY? Because a meek person is one who considers God and others above themselves. A meek person can be a strong leader, but realizes that he/she has someone in authority over him/her- and that person is God. The leaders in the Bible that God was pleased with, there were many He was not, were men that had a heart for God, and a humility about them. If someone calls you meek, praise God because Jesus was called that as well, however remember that Jesus had moments when He was righteously angry at the Pharisees as well. Meekness is strength, under control.

And the meek shall inherit the Earth...that is why if you are not truly humble and operate from a view point of I am better than or lesser than you operate from an ego based mentality and are on a path of self-destruction.

Meekness does not mean that one has no backbone or is a doormat for others' bullying or an occassion and opportunity for the sins and ego greeds of others.
Meekness involves humility, self-honesty,concern for others in a spirit of gentleness and sacrifice

Meekness is just the opposite of weakness. Meekness, to me, means being strong enough to let someone else be right once in awhile, being unselfish, not being self righteous, being humble.

Seeng yourself in an appropriate light. Not too highly, and (just as importantly) not too lowly. When people say they are so low and worthless they are not looking at themselves in an appropriate light. They think they are being meek or humble but they are just being delusional.

I think humbleness of spirit is better than meekness. Meekness is too similar to weakness. But being humble means not having an ego.
