why don't you just send a fedex with a gift card or buy some prepared mc card that can be used at any restaurant send some menus that deliver as well.

i would think that you should not give a gift to ONE of the police as it may may him / her look bad . especially if the gift is more than 25.00 . i'd send something that the team of police could share . i wouldn't send home cooked food as many people follow special diets / don't know your kitchen and might be concerned to partake.

send a gift box with treats (like a Harrdy David gift basket) that can be shared or send some little cards that they can order something and enjoy together

You probably can but I think it would be better to call him and ask him to either pick it up at your place or if you don't live in the area where he works, ask to meet him at a restaurant in his work area and go there to give it to him. Problem with many precincts is they don't have someone there all the time and if they get a call as they walk in the door that requires many of them to respond, you may get stuck holding the "bag" so to speak :)

What don't you call him and ask him to pick it up? If you go to the precinct with a birthday gift and he is not there to receive it his co-workers might think your delivering something dangerous.

I doubt you would get him in trouble. I would recommend packaging it so it can be opened easily. Most police stations don't like to have unidentified packages lying around.

I wouldn't see why not?? I use to go with my elderly neighbor years ago to take cookies up to the precinct.
