I was saved on March 13 for the first time after reading the New Testament for the first time in my life and with spiritual understanding. My hands started shaking and my heart trembling with understanding, while I understood finally God and Science, that there are no contradictions between them, and that while we were created by God, and saved through Jesus Christ in this age, we are still evolving towards God, and in the next age after world revolution in consciousness where most willing receive the Mind of Christ (Christ consciousness) will be responsible for our own salvation.

18 hours later, I was graced and gifted by a separate event, spontaneously and involuntarily, I received a Baptism of the Holy Spirit with wisdom and fire (enlightenment) whereby I united intimately with God in love and eternity, when I came to tears were rolling down my face and I was unexplainably happy, and it truly changed my life in the 15 seconds it occurred, it changed me instantly to a loving, trusting, optimistic and innocent child of God, I truly entered the Kingdom of God to the degree that it is possible in this lifetime. This is an experience that many Saints have had, and I know I was invited on the road to Sainthood, and it’s a daily humility and journey that I will be on the rest of my life.

What about you? Was your infilling of the Spirit a separate event from your salvation? How did it happen for you?

Amazing. I had an equally phenomenal experience.... Just reading your clip here was a much needed revival this morning! Bless you. I too was home alone and became engulfed in the new testament... I call it my 3 day experience... I locked the doors turned off the phone and ready and underlined everyword of the new testament as I read it.... my mind opened up and I could conceive of total love... I fell to my knees many times during this duration and cried and prayed for everyone I ever knew... I couldn't find a inch a hate or anger anywhere in my body... during this experience I experienced a total "embodiment" of the spirit... and there was no mistaking that is what it was, and it WAS NOT my imagination... few people are so blessed to have this happen, and I applaud you for sharing, and it is a revelation for me to spend some time with my Father again engrossed in HIS Word, relishing all that HE and Christ have done for me... I am going through a hard time right now and have forgotten that period of my life... I wish that we could carry those incredibly dynamically holy moments with us our whole lives... but we must carry on once HE was so precious to us and gave us such a gift... I thank you and I pray this continues for you....

I got saved at age 12 (22 now), but didnt get spirit-filled until age 14.

Sounds good, but also sounds like your letting some philosophy enter into your faith.

Colossians 2:8-Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Edit:Oh, I've also seen people get saved and a few seconds later recieve the Holy Spirit and begin to speak in tounges;so no it's not always a separate event, it kinda depends on how open a person's heart is to God.

Yes, salvation and the babtism in the Holy Sirit were two separate events for me. But then I started looking at the facts and realized that there simply is no evidence and the statements that there is are extreme stretches of the truth. The same can be applied to creationist claims, if christians really understood the concepts and princples, they would be embarassed to be associated with any one publishing them.

Just an aside note, as an atheist, I can still talk in tongues. Strange, huh?

Edit:
We can produce extreme religious exeriences by applying a magnetic field to portions of the brain, this would indicate that personal experience is not a good basis for belief.

The Baptism came to me just a few days after I had my Salvation experience. I was very eager to read the Bible because it came to life and was making sense. I was reading the Book of Acts and asked God to put me in a church that was just like the gathering in the Upper room. From what I read I understood that there was a Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I asked God to baptize me with His Holy Spirit and He did. Later He led me to churches that believed what He had taught me. I got all my teaching from the Lord those first few months with very little influence from any Christians. In all these years I have never wavered away from the truth that the Lord originally taught me.

Aww man!!!! I remember I was in my living room. I had started to acquire about the whole pentecostal/apostolic faith. In Baptist churches they don't really believe in speaking in tounges and whatnot. I wanted to know more on this feeling that people get and this "unknown tounge". I got saved again March of 06'. Talk about a Acts ch 2 experiance! Now that i'm a little older I understand it more. There is no exerpiance like it and i think everyone should get a taste of it.

yes...for me, salvation and the infilling of the Holy Spirit were separate events.......I had never known the infilling was possible, so I never sought it until many years later.

God bless you on your new life
