In theory the answer is yes. The things on the door shelf are touching the inside of the front door and the outside of that door is at room temperature. Any other place in fridge is further away from a warm place.
I never saw a difference however.
Fridge makers think you can put butter there and have it be softer for smearing by it being that much warmer.

I wondered this myself as I have a young son (9months now) and people always say don't store his milk in the fridge door as it's not as cool as in the fridge, so I wondered why they don't put shelf for our milk inside the fridge somewhere so that the milk would last longer, so in my opinion it probably would last longer if placed on a shelf rather than in the fridge door, but be careful of it leaking (nearly all do for some reason) hope that helps :D

It depends on where u live. If it is a tropical country then the milk will definitely spoil a thousand times faster on the shelves. By the way it is fresh milk right?

Yeh it probably will, because people open the door a lot, and the things on the shelves get/stay colder.

yes because the farther you go in the fridge, the colder it gets. so if its on the door, its closest to the front, which means its in the 'warmest' spot. hope that helps!

That doesn't make sense! Well, there are some pretty crazy things that don't make sense that are true. It may or may not be true. Experiment.
