The rule of thumb for turkey is about 15 minutes per pound at 350 degrees f. if the oven is preheated. So about 4-1/4 hours
If you have a convection oven it will cook faster. Last week we cooked an 18 lb turkey with convection in 3 hours-the bird was not stuffed, it makes a difference.
If you have the time and inclination buy a probe thermometer ($15-$20 for a good one). Its the best way to determine if the turkey and a lot of other things are done. Much better than eyeballing it.
Please remember: don't stuff the turkey ahead of time and leave it in the refrigerator-you can make everybody sick. You stuff the turkey just before it goes into the oven.

How long to cook a stuffed 17 pound turkey?

We just had a 21 pounder a couple nights ago for an early Thanksgiving, and I had to call the Butterball hotline to make sure it would be done in time. I told them the weight and that it was sort of being stuffed, just with aromatics like lemon rinds and sage and rosemary. They told me 4-5 hours at 325F. It cooked for 5 hours and came our perfect.

350 and I would say at least 4 hrs.Make sure you melt some butter and pour over it from time to time to keep it moist.I like to take my Turkey when it is all cooked and cut it all up and put in a pan and pour chicken broth over it,it keeps it moist and it leave room or something else in the oven.
