This is a question that has been around for a long time. People can have different answers, but for me there is meaning every day. I am a Christian, and becausre I am, I can see meaning in being alive, following Christ as well as I can, loving other people, trying to become a better person because it pleases God, and enjoying the world that God has made for us.

why we are here, is because god is creating his heaven, putting himself, his energy, spark by spark, into the physical world to gain experience, five senses of the physical, sight, sound, taste, touch, smell, and of course all the emotions of the physical, good and bad. if you never experience the bad, how do you know what's good? and also we are being tested by darkness, evil. we are all to experience both. it is so much easier for a human to receive the darkness and endulge, than to follow the good, always doing the right thing, staying positive when faced with negativity, but it's a test. we have to stay as positive as we can, knowing that things happen for a reason, and acknowledge that god does exist, and that he is what is keeping you alive, giving you individuality to live as you will, learning and teaching, experiencing life. no one is perfect, and god knows that. the physical is filled with darkness and temptation. but maybe if you know why you're here, you can make better choices. we are here, building the heaven that god has promised us. every single one of us is as important as the next. not only can you see god, we all have tasks, and physically everyone is different because it is a test of tolerance, patience, understanding and accepting. do not judge others. Your senses go with you when you pass to the next phase... in heaven, how can you appreciate the beauty of a rose if you've not experienced it before, the smell, the way it looks and feels?

The meaning of life is to reach your highest potential, in ability and spiritually, and use it to contribute to addressing the many serious problems in this world. Taking on and overcoming the challenges of life in this reality is important, because expecting to escape from this type of reality in a future life, is wishful thinking. Reincarnation of the continuous type makes the most sense, and respects the reality of this universe.

Life is a gift and in that there is the strongest meaning...Living, but some who live are as dead as death and some of those who have died are as alive as the spring flowers. As for meaning, meaning is what value someone holds to a idea. So some find meaning to life in different ways, but in my belief meaning has to do more with relationship to Jesus and little to do with anything else, for everything man puts his hand to will eventually perish, but in Christ the everlasting relationship endures all things. What else is there? If not then we should eat sleep and party for tomorrow we die. Or as others who place meaning on the sand of the earth that simply washes away...riches, prestige, pride, wealth, money all of it will pass away. So whatever you do (This advice is for me to... as I need it) do for Him in your heart and then meaning beyond the seen is revealed to life everlasting.

Yes, I certainly believe God has a plan or purpose for every one of us. Many people go through life without ever thinking about it—but that doesn't change the fact that God put us here for a purpose.
In other words, we aren't here by accident; we're here because God put us here. And He put us here for a reason—so we could come to know Him in a personal way, and then live the way He wants us to live. This is the greatest discovery you will ever make: You were created to know God, and to be His friend forever. As a young boy, my mother taught me these words from our church's statement of belief: "Man's chief end (or purpose) is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." I've never forgotten this.
God not only has a general purpose for each of us, but He also has a specific plan for each of our lives. God knows all about you, and He has a plan for you. That's why you can pray and seek God's will when you face decisions, and it is why you can know God is with you every moment of the day. The Bible says, "Teach me your way, O Lord; lead me in a straight path" (Psalm 27:11).
How do you find God's plan for your life? The first step is to commit your life to Jesus Christ. Don't wander through life without any purpose or direction, but by faith commit your life to Christ and learn to follow Him.

There is a meaning to every individual's life -a mission that God has set for us. That's why we celebrate birthdays in the first place. Every individual is special in his/her own way, as they are here to work in some area God has assigned them. For instance, carpentry may not be such a hot profession, but without a carpenter, there wouldn't be furniture. A peasant's job maybe tiring, but without him/her, there would be no food for us. So, every individual's birth has meaning to it.

There was, until Eve caused Adam to sin. It took Jesus to win our favor back to God. Now it's just a waiting game until you go to one of two places when you die.
