also need help hooking up my dvd player. So if you know of a website with pictures or step by step intructions that would be great since i am clueless as far as all these different cables and such goes , thanks for helping

well i don't know of a website that helps w/ hook-ups. bout how about ur local radioshackstore. take the manuels for all ur devices. i went to my local store; they where very helpful. i got an education, a print out of how 2 hook everythng up, and most of the cables i needed right in the store.

First: call your cable company and upgrade to real HD service. Your standard cable wont look good on that set. Likely they will come out and hook up the unit for you.

You need an AV receiver to feed sound from the DVD player to 5 speakers. Or you run L/R RCA cables from the DVD player to some L/R inputs on the TV. These should go into the same input as the video cables.
