What about if you were brought up a devoted jew and with all your heart you believed in it, you thought you were pleasing god...and you thought it was the truth. And god obviously knew you truly thought you were pleasing him...would he put you to hell and let you stay there, isn't he all loving amd mercyful...

Or, what if I'm an atheist and all I have to go on is the word of a bunch of people who have a very long history of being wrong? Is it unreasonable for me to be skeptical?

A sin is something you know is wrong and do it anyways. Any good person who lives an upright life, with no knowledge of sin or never given the gift of faith, would not go to Hell. God is all Loving and Merciful in the end you choose where you will go.

The hell and suffering in it you are talking is for those who
1. Who murder other people
2. Who exploit humans like the minute a natural disaster happens, they riase prices of all things of basic necessities and suck every one's money.
3. Who's greed have no end
4. Who want to subjugate other poor nations by force and kill
them if they want to live free by themselves.
5. Who make other people suffer for their own luxurious life
6. Who never thank God that has given them this life on
earth with its perfect life supporting system with Free Oxygen, Sun, Day, Night, Oceans, Mountains, rivers, rain, Trees, Bushes, Vegetation, animals, birds, insects that keep balance in ecology sytem
7. Who instead of thanking God, exploit every thing God has created on this earth for their benefit,
8. Who kill animals and birds for fun and not to food.
9. Who pollute and destroy this beautiful earth God made with all its natural beauties in it.
10. Who rape minor childresn and women just for fun with never having any remorse.
These are the ones who deserve to be punished in hell fire. Because they refused to believe in God and violate all the rules that God want them to follow.
Those who live a decent God frearing normal life, repent God when some thing wrong happen to do and ask God's forgiveness, promise never to do the wrong deed again and keep the promise with God, Who love God more than any one else, who worship God and none other......for them is the real everlasting life in Heaven as a reward for living life as God wants us to live here on earth.
Yes err is human. There is no one who will never make a mistake. God loves those who come back to God and ask for forgiveness. He is most Merciful, most forgiveness.
