My cat came on heat and I thought she was pregnant, but then she came on heat again about 8-10 days later. Is this normal? All my other cats became pregnant the first time so this has not occurred before. (Don't worry, I rehouse all the kittens to extremely good homes for those of you who think I am irresponsible!).

They will continue to come in to heat roughly every 2 weeks until they become pregnant.

I still think you're irresponsible. Apart from risking your cat's health every time she becomes pregnant, you are taking up SO many potential homes. Don't you know how many cats there are in shelters, dying because there are no homes for them to go to? And it's people like you that are taking them all up!!

The bad news is that, especially if they were precocious and came on for the first time at a very early age (5 months or thereabouts), they'll carry on coming on heat every ten days or so until (a) they find a husband, however disreputable, or (b) you take them to the vet and have them spayed. On top of that, there's all the rubbing up against you and rolling over and yowling (usually followed by puzzled looking around to see where the yell came from . . . 'surely that wasn't me'?). Three choices: trip to the vet, put up with it, or find her a husband. The first option is the best one. Good luck

Yeah, they usually come back in heat in a matter of days. When she stops coming back into heat, then she's pregnant.
