I thought it was silly. Clocks aren't intelligent to know these kind of things. If they are programed to show the year up until the year 1999. When the year 2000 comes, they can't say 'what comes next? I'm only programed up until now' they will go back to the year that was first programed into them.
What were you thinking in 1999?

I wasn't worried. I was thinking at the time, even if they had a problem. Just set the clocks back to 1999 until it could be fixed.

I was HOPING for it! Nothing like a little chaos to shake things up a bit. Alas, nary an airplane just fell out of the sky because its clock thought it was 1900.
