I am undecided, matbe there are forces that try to manipulate us into becoming a bad person or good person. I've often wondered why we have emotions, if there isn't something there.

I have no doubt that people with the choices that they make open up themselves to demons, and the powers of Satan. In the bible we are told that we fight not against kings and rulers, but with the powers darkness and the lord of this world Satan. People are naturally rotten, but no one is so rotten as to kill 7 million Jews, to murderer their chilDren, to rape and kill for no reason except you can. What kind of person could enjoy preforming abortions as the one dr. in AL. did? His nurse said he just could not wait to go from town to town to do his work, it was what drove him. think about it that is not normal.

u have to believe both unless u hav never experienced one. How can you belive the good without beliveing the bad? how can we choose to do good deeds with going about without bad deeds? unless you have only done good then you cant say uve done bad, but then you wud be lying and there u hav a bad deed. If we've only believe in bad without any good then its not possible. In every bad deed, every bad thought, every bad belief there is something good that will happen. Like killing a bad person would stop further murders, or by lying to one person you could save a lot of other people.

Yes I do believe in good & evil forces.

We are sinful, we know about good deeds & bad deeds.

Pick up a newspaper & you will see all the evil & some of the good things happening in the world today.

A well trained conscience dictates to us what is right or wrong.

We must choose to listen to it to do the right thing.

Following the Bible, God's Word helps us to learn & do what is right & resist the evil forces around the earth today.

You have the choice always: and, then, there are influences, too, which are the forces, the temptations! Look at it this way: white corpuscles and red corpuscles are good, your friends, and, the disease causing germs and bacteria are evil, not your friends so much; it is up to you, your choice to take care of your health, help through good health practices and healthy living, to help your friends to look after you! So also, your social practices, your life as a whole! Good and Evil are within your control, both are kind of forces, but within your control!

People choose to do these things, when they have more than one option avaliable to them. There is no good and evil force controlling them.
However, since people's actions seem to orginate in the brain, and since nobody could choose under what circumstances they were born or what brain they've got-- it might be argued that "true choice" is an illusion.

Yes.

What is known is a spirit, in meaning an atmosphere. Sometimes people get into lets say fighting moods like at hockey games. This type of activity is of course against bible teachings for obvious reasons.

So it is both that people are at times debased and there are forces that tempt people in their weakness.

There are three things why people sin,
1. we inherit sin
2. we have Satan that brings the spirit or influence our way.
3. as humans we are imperfect and make mistakes in bad judgment.

From what you're describing, i would not call that evil forces. that's seen evil, yet no longer in a supernatural sort of way. You describe a girl who became mentally and bodily abusive to you and your little ones and kinfolk. that's inate evil. The alcohol abuse and the different aspects look to steer in the direction of an untreated or undiagnosed psychological ailment. in case you have siblings, do they behave the same way? in the event that they do no longer, then the habit would desire to be alcohol proper on my own. you have performed the main suitable issues by applying combating her from seeing and doing on your little ones and not having touch in years. you have got a element on your existence which you somewhat prefer to talk to her returned, yet make confident to constantly administration the situation and meet in public. lots of people who've personalities including your mothers additionally flow to church and submit a front. Too undesirable those on the church do no longer understand. the guy which you describe became abused by applying her father-in spite of if it became no longer actual, it became psychological and emotional. Your granny became candy and large, yet in those circumstances, divorce became no longer an decision, yet would have been extra applicable on your mom. Like I pronounced, it is not evil interior the supernatural way, in spite of if it feels that way. you may come to words with all this in case you stumble on a impressive social worker that's wiling to make it easier to talk and listens. this would assist you realize extra applicable and not sense the grief and sorrow which you describe right here. good good fortune with each and every thing!

I believe the answer is both.

I sincerely believe that we make our own choices and must live with the consequences. However, I also believe that forces (both good and evil) attempt to influence our choices every chance they get. The choices are still ours, however.

This is what the book of Job is about.

We have emotions because they were a useful tool, evolutionary speaking. Anger, love, fear, they all can produce survival behavior under the correct circumstances. They still prompt people to reproduce, fight or flight.

For the rest, we're not puppets on strings and you are responsible for your own actions.
