As a practicing Pagan, my question is "Why do you think that's funny when most Christians automatically believe that we are going to h*ll??? Or that we worship the devil?" Both I might add are Christian beliefs. I can't go to h*ll, I don't believe it exists, mostly due to my Christian upbringing. I would have to say that the Christians are far more judgmental and at times downright cruel to those who practice the religion from which most Christian morals were derived from to try to convert people to follow the church mostly for monetary reasons. Personally my main problem with Christianity is that it is too male oriented. There can not be male without female but throughout the bible women are downgraded and belittled. What I think is the most laughable is that in a Christian upbringing you are taught a double standard. You are taught not to do all these things that are sins, but yet are also taught that if you do, all you have to do is ask forgiveness and it's granted. So you are basically given a free 'get of jail card' from day one. How right is that? Pagans, or least most Pagan based religions do not have that kind of belief. You can not go to a god or goddess and ask for complete forgiveness from all your wrongdoings. We believe in the "what goes around, comes around' theory. And most believe that whatever you be it good or bad comes back to you times three.

Now there dear one there is something that I am going to tell you. Once open a time there was a great society called the Druids who could spiritually move mountains. However the Romans thought that they were evil and killed the lot of them. You can get your kicks on route 66 and what the bet this question will get the flick by tomorrow.

It might be. But I think you can be a little more tolerant of other people's beliefs. Why not let them believe as they do? As long as they aren't trying to convert you, what difference does it make? These are beliefs and views that they hold to be sacred and special.

Yes that always struck me as very hypocritical.
I also think its hypocritical for Atheists to call people with a religion deluded and stupid considering they can't prove anything that they believe.

anybody who mocks anybody else based on their belief system is a hypocrite.
We all have our beliefs which we can't prove. Our beliefs may be as foreign to others as theirs are to us. To mock them is only to demonstrate your ignorance.
[edit]
It is, however, acceptable to mock the British for their poor oral hygiene or the Americans for being so rude when traveling abroad.

I truly am sorry. You don't have to go along with religion, but are you saying you don't believe in God, because if that is the fact, then you are living a miserable life. Everyone has to have a ideal that they can believe in, and it is up to them to find the right one. If you look and look and don't find it, then you are not talking to God and asking him to help you find the truth. Try that and really ask with your heart and see what happens.

I find it ironic that you are asking this...being that if all religion is all bs...who are you to judge either of us?
carl: your perspective scares me. Ok...Wicca was started in the 50s yes...BUT....who would you rather follow...some religion created from years and decades of research of the old religions and rites and modernizing them for them to work in modern days... from the 50s or some ancient Hebrew sitting in a tent thinking that nothing exists outside of earth and that all creation is made from some dude in the sky that they can;'t see?
I'll think I'll stick with the 50s

I find it hypocritical of you to ask a question about the hypocrisy of mocking a religion while mocking ALL religions.
