YES! Some antibiotics make some people to feel "hungry" and crave to eat more.

Generally, most antibiotics causes some level of irritation to the stomach. Slight irritation produced can be perceived as HUNGER requiring a person to eat something to fill the stomach. That is of the same pattern of the usual hunger we feel when the eating time is delayed as caused by gastric enzymes which to some level irritates the stomach lining. That is why when you are hungry, some extent of pain in the stomach is felt.

Ampicillin, Clarithromycin, and Erythromycin are examples of antibiotics that had made me so hungry...seems like something pulls out my stomach. The problem is that, eating does not easily relieve the hungry feeling.

Note that if the irritation effects of antibiotics is increased, you may not just feel hungry but end up with severe discomfort and vomiting.

So, if an instruction is to take antibiotics with full stomach or with food, follow it cautiously. If you feel hungry during the course of antibiotics, take small frequent feedings of non-gastric irritant foods.

Clavamox tablets should be given with food, or at least not on an empty stomach- some antibiotics can make dogs nauseaus also. You could boil some chicken or boil hamburger, make sure you drain all the fat off, mix it with boiled white rice. Even if you get him to eat a little bit of that, then give him 5-10 minutes before you give him the Clavamox. Try the pill pockets or if you can pill him directly like the previous poster said, by putting the tablet way in the back of his mouth that might work. Clavamox does come in a liquid form also, but might not be in the same strength as the tablets you have.

One is supposed to eat before taking any medication especially an antibiotic. It is incredibly strong medication and can harm the lining of your stomach.
