As with renting a car, you have to have valid ID and valid credit card in your name -- or you have to pay cash up front. To be certain, just call a San Fran hotel and ask what the requirements are. Best to know for certain BEFORE you travel and are prepared with the right docs.

You can be 18 to rent a room but must be 21 to rent a car.

Here 18 is considered an Adult.
21 for drinking alcohol.

I think aslong as it's paid for in advance & you are over 18 & can provide valid age verification ID you should be fine. Be a good idea to call the hotel first before booking & double check this first, they wont mind answering your enquiry, their generally very helpful people, unless you get one of the snooty receptionists lol!

usually its 18, but sometimes hotels require someone to be 21+, depends on the place.

Yupps 18 is the age to be. All you would need is a id at least from your state to prove you are 18.

They are all wrong. It is 21. They wont rent a room to an 18 year old, I guarentee it.
