I was on probation for a DUI, I got on my birthday in FL!! I violated probation because I missed a meeting. I wasn't able to get there. I tried calling several times, crying..and even had my father call and leave messages. Turns out, the stupid lady was on vacation and the people who worked for her erased 'some' of my messages already. I left the state for a while and I am coming back for the holidays to see my family. Will they bother coming after someone like me? If I started working, would they come get me? or would they try to get my IP address on myspace? Please, I want to know if im in danger..and don't want to be picked up during Thanksgiving!! ;) Thanks.

Hah, I am a very pretty white female. Never been in trouble before..that's why I am freaking out. I am not going to any other meetings, dont want to go to jail for a year! Besides, my PO was on vacation and probably sympathizes with me for not being there for me.

They won't start a manhunt or anything. Your PO can attempt to have you arrested. The most likely scenario is that a bench warrant will be issued, or they'll get you at your next meeting. A lot of time and man power won't be expended to arrest you though.

My daughter had a warrant and like her mother, procrastinated about until they called her work and told her to either come in,or they would come there and get her.
It would just be a "walk through". If she plead, and the judge would set a probation period.
They lied. She went in and was arrested immediately, plus charged with a failure to appear.
All this was started by a 35.00 bad check to a nail salon, that she felt messed up her nails.
I told her to pay the check and forget it. She didn't.
Her brother has issues with paying tickets.
I'll tell you what I told them. These people are serious! It is not going to just go away. It could be years from now and you don't stop completely at a stop sign and your going to jail.
This could turn a pretty white girl with a future into the crack ho on cops.
Take care of business!

Contact your probation officer immediately, and take care of what you need to take care of. If a bench warrant is issued for you, and you are stopped in Florida, you'll be arrested and taken to jail until you post a significant cash bond. It is easier, and cheaper, to take care of the problem now. As for the "stupid lady", she didn't get the DUI, she didn't fail to show up for her probation meeting, you did. Grow up and take responsibility for your actions.

they won't "come after you", but it's likely that there is an active bench warrant or capias for you in the state. which means if you get stopped by an officer for whatever reason (i.e., speeding?), they will look you up, find that there's a warrant for you and probably put you in jail for a day or two until you can get a court hearing. if you plan to live in that state, I suggest calling your po or the district attorney's office to have this issue cleared up.

You very likely have a warrant for your arrest.

Police normally spend very little time serving warrants. If they do, they will attempt to serve them right after they are issued.

They very likely won't come looking for you, but if you are pulled over, or have some other police contact, the warrant will come up.

No, they wont be on the lookout for you or anything. But if you get pulled over for any reason they will take you to jail. Just dont do anything to get yourself in trouble.
My dad fled state on parole in Illinois to Tennesee, for unpaid childsupport. My mom got his addressin TN, what he was driving and everything. She called his parole officer in Il and he told her that unless my father comited a felony, they wouldnt do anything about it.....disnt help us any but whatever, the system sucks. Does my little ancedote make you feel any better?

Ohh, and if your curious, he DID commit a felony and got extradited back to IL and had to serve six months in jail. The moron.

You might already have a warrant for your arrest for violating probation. Go to the probation department and inquire; otherwise, you might get arrested when you least expect it. Your license might be suspended. So take care of it now. It won't go away on its own.

How dark are you? I would avoid the sun, you don't want to be mistaken for being a black guy right now if the cops may be looking for you.
