It could be this :

If it isn't : You could try making a centrifugation test in a lab and see if there are more than the normal substances in this persons blood.

P.S. : I am not good at medicine, but I know some things about chemistry.

"The patient is diabetic and has kidney problem" could be enough reason to investigate more on the extent of the patient's diseases. If it is not due to the effects of the medications, there could be something more than just a simple problems arising from the existing diseases. Further complication could had been existed. Maybe the blood sugar is going low. Maybe the kidney is failing.

If there is a suspicion of "adding" chemicals in her diet which forces her to sleep, you need to voice out your concern to the doctor and possibly request for testing her blood for chemical analysis (toxicology testing). It sounds that there is legal issue involved in there, if that's the case, such patient will possibly handled as MEDICO-LEGAL case.(Planned murder?)

Before raising that issue as the possible cause of her oversleeping, ruling out the potentially morbid condition and proper diagnosis and treatment of any threats to her health should be on top of the priority for now.

AND...if the patient is in your home, take her to hospital as soon as possible. If the patient is already in hospital, you may discuss with the doctor to clear out your concerns.
