Upstate New York - Binghamton area.
Golf is a tremendous bargain in my area. The retirees in the area have difficulty with the pricing structure because two major companies in the area provided great golf courses at minimal cost to their employees. Those companies are gone now and the courses have been purchased by people that want to make money. Imagine that!

Well I have no trouble with expenses in my area. I play for free on the course because I am on the high school golf team and the let the entire team play all they want. I have no problem with clubs because I work for the golf course and I get all my slubs 50% off plus the set of clubs I'm using now I got for free from my rich grandpa!! I would say I play for free and get everything I need in golf for free other than golf T's or balls which I usually get for free to!!!

In my area its only $220 for annual membership for under 21s.
LOL
And my other club only charges $40 a month both unlimited access to the course and no more additional green fees. On the weekdays you basically own the whole course. Can you say... Golf Heaven?
Theres a lot of courses here competing for your business so the prices are pretty cut-throat.
-Australia, New Zealand. (We got nothing but land. lol!)

I live in Las Vegas, which was recently rated the most expensive place to play golf in the country. Fortunately, many of the courses have 'locals' rates that are much less than what they charge tourists, but it's still not cheap.

Columbus Ohio is a good place to golf.
$20 for cheap golf. $50 gets a nice round and a cart. $125 top of the line.
40 public courses in Franklin and Delaware counties.

It is a shame that golf is so expensive in so many places. My wife and I are members where the couple rate is $250 for the year. That is pretty good.

Not for me. There is a course in Friendship, NY that has a year membership for only $220!
It sucks when we travel because we are shocked how it can cost the same amount to play just one round at some resorts.

Anywhere from $25 to $150 for green fees. We shall be found on the $25 courses. Which, by the way, are fine.
