World wide, its F1, but I've been to several foreign countries during Nascar season, and I've been at some Pubs, and seen people watching it on TV... Some of the F1 races draw over 400,000 fans at the races, especially the Italian Grand Prix and German Grand Prix.. Nascar is growing in popularity overseas, but it will never take over F1..I was amazed to be sitting in the airport bar in Paris and saw 4 people with Jeff Gordon T-shirts and Dale Jr T-shirts, so nosey me goes over and talks to them they were from France, 2 of them spoke english, but it was a chance for me to brush up on my french, they were going to Daytona to the July race they had this trip planned for 2 yrs, and they were so excited. They follow F1 and IRL as well...Nascar is gaining in popularity overseas but F1 is definitely more popular..

Of course Formula 1 is the winner. If we forget for a moment that both are called motor sports, then I'd even say they are incomparable. Nascar has about 75 million fans while Formula 1 had about 580 million unique viewers during the 2005 season. The cumulative television audience of F1 is calculated to be more than fifty thousand million for a season. I don't want to be rude but ... who watches Nascar anyway?

World wide...I would have to say F1. But with some of the best F1 drivers coming over to NASCAR, that may change.

F-1 is the most well known world wide but more people attend Nascar races.

Driving sucessfully in Nascar is lots harder than F-1, ask anyone who has done both

F1 is probably worldwide, but so is soccer.

I'll refrain from the temptation to add further comment in response to the yahoos above.

Tempting to invade the F1 forum. Never been a troll before.

If you exclude the USA, soccer/football is number one and F1 is the number 2 sport in the WORLD.

F-1 as everybody is writing. But it's a shame what they have done to that sport as well as Champ Car racing. They have ruined both series as far as I'm concerned.

Of course Formula 1 is more popular. Besides, nascar is boring, just driving on the same type of circuit for 300-500 laps...
