Long story short - I volunteer for an internet watch group that locates possible online child predators who are looking for sex & other illegal activities with minors. Gross. Anyway, there is this one guy who I've been communicating with who is clearly a pedophile. Anyway, on his myspace profile he has 4 dogs. They all look really healthy and well taken care of and he even told me about how they are his babies and stuff. Here is my question, this guy has been reported due to his illegal online activities. I am a HUGE dog & cat person and I feel really sad and anxious about this not because I'm worried about this guy, but about his dogs. Where will they go? Who will take care of them if he is arrested? I am seriously stressed about this...

I would like to reiterate that I'm not feeling bad for this pervert, just for the well-being of his 4 dogs. Did we do the right thing by reporting him?

Thank you! Your responses are genuinely helping me feel better about this. I'm just really sensitive about dogs/cats and can't stand the thought of them being left alone or whatever. Thanks!

Thanks to the positive feedback. And much thanks to Bonsylar for using me as a reference for seeing how "low" people can be. Great to know you do something positive to help the community and you get belittled. Thanks for being so caring. Did you turn in 2 sexual predators to authorities today? I didn't think so...

You most certainly did the right thing. If he is arrested animal control will be called in. They will be taken into custody. The stress these animals go through will be NOTHING compared to the long term psychological damage he would do to a child. Don't you feel bad for one second! I'm glad there are people like you! Please, don't worry about these pets... you've done a far better thing.

i understand you're don't feel bad for the predator, but i can't understand why you would even think you did the wrong thing by reporting him. i'm really sorry about his dogs, just the dogs not him. but i'm far more worried about the children he abused and happy that it's hopefully going to stop than about the welfare of his dogs. people especially innocent children come first no matter. as for the dogs more than likely animal control will be called and they will become custody of animal control. they will hold the dogs for a period of time. the time depends on city laws usually. if the worthless waste of human life has made bail he will be able to either make other arrangements for someone to care for his pets or he will have to surrender them to animal control where they will be placed for adoption. as for how long the animals have to be adopted will again depend on the laws of that shelter. i'm sure he thought he was taking great care of the children he stalked too. keep that in mind. these dogs might and probably are better off. i'm glad you are concerned about the dogs, but you should never second guess yourself when you are stopping a child predator.

I am also a HUGE animal lover, so i can understand your concerns over the well being of these dogs. And hopefully one of the owners friends or family will be able to house the pets. However, you shouldn't even have to question whether you have made the right choice by reporting this man. He is a child predator and even if the dogs are sent to the pound and/or put down(a terrible thought) it is still a small price to pay if you think of the child/children this man could have been free to abuse. Well done and good luck.

not ok - yet there's a distinction between that and an attack (which insinuates enormous bites and blood). Legally this is a chew if it breaks the exterior and yours did not. that would not excuse it. yet on the comparable time human beings do react otherwise to "pitbulls" than different breeds. appearing hectic can carry approximately reaction...and human beings are oftentimes greater hectic approximately some breeds than others. not ok habit. yet on the comparable time you probably did not get proprietor documents so i'm uncertain what you anticipate every physique to do yet agree/disagree and, as many, %. somebody who concurs with what you opt to hearken to. some canines do in comparison to 3 guy or woman human beings - they experience issues we don't. Others are in basic terms unsocialized and others have been taught aggression, the two intentionally or via neglecting to maximum suitable suited and back them down.

I promise, the animal control will take them into custody and probably put up for adoption/given to a family member.

They will be taken care of.

You did the right thing to save a child!

Pets aren't children so have no more to fear from him then the average pet owner. If he is arrested and cannot take care of the animals, they will go to a shelter so will most likely be killed, especially if inhumane groups like PETA become involved. Perhaps, if it is within your power, the best thing to do would be to arrange for the possibility with some planning of your own as to where his pets end up. If he truly loves them as it appears, he may well agree to sign them over to your group to save their lives (after being arrested).

My guess is that they will probally go to the local animal shelter, if you live in the same state or willing to Travel you might be able to adopt them or help get them adopted. Good Luck on evrything, and Great Job looking for the perverts, they all need to be stopped.

I'm guessing your watchdog group has a relationship with local law enforcement. Why don't you ask one of your police friends what happens to pets in these situations?

Did you do the right thing?

Are you kidding me?

Are the dogs worth more than a child?

When all is said and done, as much as we hate it, the dogs can be humanely euthanized so that they don't suffer any more.

THOSE CHILDREN SUFFER THEIR ENTIRE LIVES.

ENDLESSLY!

RAPING A CHILD screws up every aspect of love, companionship, affection, relationships, EVERYTHING!

But it's better to taint these innocent lives because the dogs might suffer?

NOW, I've seen how low people can be.

If those dogs had to DIE to save one innocent child, so be it.

I count the cost as worth it!

AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE.

!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S A CHILD !!!!!
