I work for this one man. I really appreciate his help and stuff. But what really annoy me is, he always try to make me feel better with lies.

Especially when it come to college. He promised long time ago he'd help me if I ask him. But he never helped me, he only edit my papers for grammar error. Beside that he never really show me how to do anything or help me with something I really need.

I'm lingering at D in math which I've never been good at. In marketing class, I'm hanging at around D as well. I'm getting a B in one class. As for other one, I am getting a C. But in one of the class, I am at low B. But due to a huge mess in group project, I know I'm going to fail the class for sure.

My friend keep tell me that I'm doing so GREAT and talk about how I could get into some of the top university in the country. He keep say I'll get all grade up in high GPA and stuff. When I brought the group project up, he laugh and say that is no problem! I'll help you and we'll make everyone look

like a jr high school trying to do a project. But yet the time is approaching dangerously close.

He recently ask me about how I am doing. I tell him nothing look good. He just smile and act like I tell him I got a straight A. He keep say I'll pull it up and that I'll pass the class with ease.

This is starting to really pissing me off!

I'm want to do high fashion photography and no college degree is require for that. I just need to update my portrait and send it out to get position I wants. l I'm also a professional mixed martial arts fighter so I am making a comfort living as well. I just want a degree for back up, but this man is just being ridiculous about it and really pissing me off.

How do I get him to stop?

You can only depend on yourself. If you really need help (It sounds like you do.) Hire a tutor. Since you already make a good living, you can probably afford it. Talk to your teachers. Maybe they can suggest some extra credit work.

I'm not so sure this person is lying. Maybe he really believes what he says is true. Perhaps he has a very positive perspective on life. Maybe he doesn't know how to help you, but he thinks he does. If you would like his help, maybe you could ask for it. "Hi Bill, previously you mentioned that you could help me on my project and I'm wondering if that offer's still open. The deadline is coming up and I could really use some help on Tuesday. Are you available?"

I think he is doing that cause he is afraid if he tells you the truth that he will hurt your feelings. You might have to be upfront with him and let him know you KNOW what is going on and so he can be set at ease.

Some people tell lies because they are afraid of hurting other people's feelings.

Quit going to him for help. Next time he asks how it's going, you don't have to tell him. You can tell him you don't want to discuss it, or you can discuss it, and tell him how you feel, and how important this is to you.
Be prepared to find someone else to help you, regardless.
Take care.
