I just turned on my PS3 and it just went out... it can't be the power cable because I replaced it with a Desktop PC power cable and it still didn't work. I made sure it was securely in and tried flickering the power switch on and off. Any suggestions? Please help.

I think I know what happend. You probably had too many electronic devices plugged into one outlet and it caused an electric overload and it affected the PS3.

You will probably have to get the PS3 replaced by Sony because the inside of it is probably fried or is damaged.

Try to use a surge protector or don't plug in many devices close to each other that share the same outlet.

Try to flip on the switch on the back, then press and hold power button on front for 10 seconds. It resets console. It'll reset everything to factory settings. Otherwise - take it to the service.
