How could it be fact? If it weren't recorded in the Bible which is considered "the word of God", no one would waste a moment believing it to be true! It is mythology, an explanation developed by ancient people who had no way of conceiving any other more credible version of human creation.

if it is fact, then god is an ******.
why would he punish them for something they didn'y know was wrong.
before they ate the apple, they were ignorant of right and wrong. they wouldn't know that disobeying was a bad thing, but god punishes them anyway.
for those who believe that this story is fact, how can you justify worshipping a god who is obviously evil? he set them up for a fall and then makes them suffer. that is wrong. if somebody did that to me, i wouldn't consider them my friend. that type of being more closely resembles a devil.

Fiction. It could have been classified as a fable--a tale with a moral.

The "story" of "Adam and Eve" is Fact. It is from the Bible and the Bible is the Living word of God. Since the Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with him and the Word was him." That would mean that the Bible is God. God is perfect and infallible therefore the Bible is perfect and infallible.

Fiction. Myth, more accurately.
At the very best, fact utterly unsupported by any corroborating evidence.

Allegorical, about humankind's shift from a nomadic life to one of agriculture. The men blamed the women for making them stay put.
