Mexicans, and not really even close..... Julio Ceasar Chavez outshines almost all puerto rican fighters by himself but then throw in Delahoya and you have two guys who pretty much took on everyone in the last twenty years and won most of their matches ..... Fighters like Bobby Chacon, Erick Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera (all Legends and sure hall of famers) gave boxing fans some of the most memorable fights we have ever seen...puerto rican fighters are not bad but when Camacho comes out as one their legends you know there is not many to chose from...... trinidad was a great fighter and Cotto is proving to be great but they are still far off from reaching the levels of Morales Chavez or even Delahoya...when you consider two greats from the same era and about the same age in Delahoya and trinidad (Mexican vs. puerto rican) you see one guy still fighting for real belts against the top fighters of 147 and 154 while the other is fighting circus bouts with washed up legends.... both have great fighters that give great matches but Mexicans just have too many Legends and Clearly is the better of the two, well so far at least

Clearly Mexican fighters. There are countless Mexican fighters you could name when it comes to the history of the sport. Felix Trinidad is really the only big name that many bring up, when it comes to talks of Puerto Rican fighters. Miguel Cotto and Ivan Calderon are other Puerto Rican fighters, but both are pretty much still at the peak of their careers.

Mexicans beat down Puerto Ricans most of the time. Puerto Ricans are better talkers but not very good fighters.

puerto ricans are known for their power punching but mexicans are known for their aggressiveness, toughness and determination.. mexicans are no doubt the better boxers. and no black boxers are boring to watch fight these days.only mosley is entertaining cause he grew up fighting like a mexican by sparring wiht mexicans... in L.A and if u didnt know Roberto Duran and Diego Corrales are both warriors and guess what theyre both half MEXICANS....

I'm Mexican-American but i got to say
Puerto Rico still cranks out good fighters. and like someone else said , think of the population of the 2 places
Mexico-109 million plus another 15-20 million people of mexican decent in the US
VS
Puerto Rico- 4 million plus another 3 million of PR decent in the US.

Mexico has produced more skilled boxers HOWEVER they have a much larger population from which to pull... I wouldn't say that Mexicans are better... but statistically they have a huge demographic advantage.
