Never heard of it. I've been in the food industry for 27 years.
I'm sure its an urban myth.

I've never heard of rubbing the ends on a cucumber, but I know that we always cut off the ends and taste a little bit to make sure that it isn't bitter.

there is not any longer something unhealthful approximately it. in actuality, that's the place most of the supplements are. In established cucumbers, some human beings peel them by way of fact the exterior could be difficult. yet in Persian and chinese language cucumbers, the peels are thinner and for this reason greater attractive. you will word that pickles consistently have the peels on, so that they are needless to say no longer poisonous.

It's an old wives' tale. Rubbing the ends does nothing. Cut off enough of the end so you see seeds, cut in half and remove the seeds. Slice.
