Well I've had a Robovoroski Hamster for about 2 months now and decided to get her a friend a week and a half ago. Since we got her the new friend, she has been stuffing her cheeks like crazy! I mean crazy.. her cheek are like twice the size of her body. Can anybody tell me exactly why she is doing this and what problems am I facing? What do I do???

I meant stuffing her cheeks as in storing food in her mouth. What if I made her spit the food out by squeezzing it out of her, would that be okay?
When I first put them in the cage together (for the first day or two) they were fighting but they dont ever fight anymore. The only problem is she wont share her food and stores it all.

I dont think that she/he really likes her/his new room-mate...usually you only put hamsters together if they are brother/sister. your hamster might feel that the other one will take everything and wants it share of the food. hamsters can get real selfish, that might explain her/him stuffing her/his face.

i would recommend putting then in separate cages and maybe letting the play together or something like that.

good luck!!

Well I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the other hamster but winter is comng up so it is probably just getting ready to hibernate.

Hamsters will not overeat but will often store food in their cheek pouches and put it in a hiding place to eat later. Remove food that is no longer fresh each day, and clean out the "hidden" food once a week.

Hope this helps!!

What do you mean by stuffing her cheeks? Do you mean that she is eating too much? If it means that then maybe you should feed her less food but not to less otherwise she will starve or maybe keep the food on a higher shelf then you normally do so she won't get the food.

She's hoarding to show dominance. Watch for fights and be ready to seperate them at the 1st sign of blood.

She is stressed. Territorial. Do they fight? She is worried that she may not get enough food. I would seperate them.
