A 14 year old boy (not man) is a child. Doesn't matter what his race is. I'm confused why your mom is letting you date at 15, when there is a lifetime of that ahead of you. Get your education, be friends with all races, and wait until the 'guys' grow up. Boys of this age are full of hormones and want you for one thing, and honey, it isn't friendship! Keep your legs closed and your heart open, and be friends, not a relationship. Have fun! By the way, mom is just being mom. Moms are like that...concerned. When you have a daughter, you will love her just as much and want the best for her. And a 14 year old guy isn't the best..regardless of race.

In some ways Your age & dating, is a reflection of her memories of herself, and those good old days, when she was young single and free as a bird. She can't help it by giving her opinion to you, and you should ask her what her definition of "eww" is.. I think she is just trying to give you a suggestion, with out saying what she really means.
Sit down, stay CALM, and communicate. You might learn some real cool stories about dating/ you mom, and why she says or thinks the way she does. It's OKAY, for you to disagree, that's natural. She may learn something new about dating from you in-turn.
Keep an open mind.
Good Luck...

yeah i dont mean to insult your mother but she is racist and old fashioned and just messed up. Do what you want to do your 15 just about the right age to start dating, and your mom is lucky, i mean what other 15 yr old tells their mom all of their stuff? She should support you as well as guide you to make the right decisions, if you do make a wrong one she is still supposed to be there for you and catch you when you fall. If anything you will just push her away and not include her in this part of your life. Dont worry about it and date whomever you please... after all if you marry a black or hispanic guy YOU will be the one that has to be with him not ur mother. Dont let her intimidate you or pressure you into dating only one race. Be yourself and goodluck. oh and to all those people saying mean things... : dating does not mean having sex. Maybe thats what you do but not eveyone does this, dating just means going to grab a slice of pizza or catching a movie and a dinner. Once he becomes her boyfriend, holding hands maybe kissing whatever she feels comfortable with. PLease try to keep an open mind for todays youth, not everyone is rushing into sex, im pretty sure she knows shes too young to even consider that an option, she hasnt completely matured mentally or even physically. And you must remember as well that todays youth are pressured into many things, instead of demoralizing them, try to give them good advice.

I know you mom loves, so she gets protective, however I should say that your mom is not contributing very positively for the world being a better place to live. All this racism and discrimination is just not right and already brings lots of chaos and war on this earth. I am glad you're a better person. Rent & watch a movie about how racism or how different nationals help whites with you r mom. That might help her a bit. Best wishes.

Moms have a dream for their kids lives & if your doing things that don't fit that dream it's going to be on the crap list. I've seen parents change. It can happen. Your Mom is probably from the generation that says the guys should be tall, strong & able to whisk you away. She will also want his family or him to be financially stable or successful. You said he is part Mexican, but you didn't mention his height. Is he shorter than you or darn close in height? Her negative responses should give away the answers to your questions. Boys & young men are not as mature as women their own age. If you're dating someone who they don't deem worthy of you, then you won't have true happiness later.
Good luck to you.

Because your mother is from a different time, and she still holds onto some bigoted ideas. It's based on ignorance, however, not evil.
As far as dating a younger guy, teenage girls are already more mature than guys their own age. I don't know why you'd want to date a younger guy, but I wouldn't go "eww."

I think this come from older values. Racism was pretty popular "back in the day". I know she may not hate other races but she may still have that "artificial value" in her blood. Most likely passed down from her parents.
Just tell her its about what in a guys heart, not where their family came from. After all, Jesus saves according to whats in a persons heart and not where they came from.

your mom may still be in the age where men or women that were hispanic, white or black were allowed to date from other races.
and the age thing normally its the men that would be older in those days.
these days it does not matter whether its race or age as long as they are not under the age of 18 the nothing that you parents can say about it.

Your Mom is like this because she is a product of her generation. You, on the other hand, are an accident with an overactive pelvis just waiting to happen. Give it a rest and wait until you're 18 to do any serious dating.
