Well, it is young. I cannot tell the size from the picture. It appears to have a longish coat with ticking. Really, the folks who said mutt are probably right on - there are likely many breeds in this one including one or more Terrier breed. There is even a hint of German Shepherd Dog. This is not a coyote or a coy dog. The shape, coat, head shape, ear shape/size, etc are all wrong. It does have a nice, peaceful expression but that doesn't really mean much.

what you have there is the prized designer dog called a mutt. they are wonderful and possibly the best designer breed ever created. if i was to make a guess a sheltie, lab or terrier mix. can't really tell the size of the dog from the pic. you will be able to find this highly intelligent and loving dog at any shelter and rescue group across the united states. they used to be a highly sought after breed, but with the introduction of papers and standards the mutt is a breed that continues to flourish even in the face adversity.

It appears to be a mix of a terrier - like a Patterdale or Jack Russell type - and a dog with ticking in the coat - like an Australian Shepherd.
It is hard to say much more than that from the photo.

Based on it's facial structure it looks like it has coyote or some type of terrier in it. Looking closer I don't see any ticking on the coat. But the ears suggest it might have some spaniel/setter/retriever in it. It looks to be a puppy and puppies can be difficult to tell the breed in. Hope this helped.

weeeelll it's a mutt. A very cute mutt though, I would go with a sheltie or collie mix, it almost looks like a smooth collie puppy. Check those out you might be able to find something similar.
I would start at a rescue
http://www.collieclubofamerica.org/rescue.php
or petfinder you can search for collies or collie mixes that look similar
http://www.petfinder.com/
or contact the collie club of america to get a breeder referral
http://www.collieclubofamerica.org/conformation.html
American Shetland Sheepdog Association, you can find the breeders page as well as rescue

Maybe some Sheltie in there? The eyes and petite build make me think that.

this may have a bit of coyote in it, but coyote's ears are constantly pricked up, and as you can see this ones isn't,
its looks like its a bit of everything.
what a gorgeous dog.
