Joining the Navy was the best decision I ever made. Of course it isn't all roses, but then again nothing is either in civilian or military life. Try not to listen to other people's opinions because they may have different criteria that they judge by. One thing I always find is that people judge the Navy by one command they worked at. What you don't know is if they made their tour bad beacuse they didn't adhere to the rules or maybe they just had bad leadership. There willing be trying times to be sure but they aren't make or break times, there is always time to bounce back.

While I have been in I have received college level technical training and worked on multi-million dollar equipment. Not to mention in my 11 years of Naval service I have visited 16 different countries. I have experienced many different cultures that allow you to get a deeper appreciation for being an American.

Make the decision on what you think is best for you and not on the opinions of others. The riends I have that didn't have a good Navy experience, at least took advantage of all the Navy had to offer while they were in. This allowed them to get a degree and pursue a career outside the Navy.

All I can tell you is I spent 22 yrs in the Navy and had a blast. Loved my job and met some great people!! Now, as with any other job, there is going to be good days and bad days. But I had much more good than bad. I would advise trying to get duty on the west coast or Hawaii. I have discovered that most of the people who don't like the Navy are the ones who spend most of thier time in Norfolk. I was fortunate that I only spent 6 months there and it was one of the worse places to be stationed. The Navy is not for everyone and you get out of it what you put into it. I would do it all over again!!

I spent 8 years in the Navy, and I spent 5 years stationed ona multi-service base so I got a good look at all the services (except Coast Guard, none there). One thing I have to tell
you - your success in any of them depends on your attitude and personality. If you like being a little more independant
and can handle the responsiblity (stay smart and alert) then the Navy is the way to go. The rules are a little wider with more left-right wiggle room, but if you break 'em they'll break you. The Air Force is more sedate and controlled but they are VERY picky about rules, if you can't follow a complete set
of rules exactly - stay away from the AF. The Army and Marines are even more regimented but you spend a lot of time working in small groups away from the officers. So theres less chances to get caught breaking a rule but the consequences are severe, I saw people lose stripes for failing
room inspections in the Army. The Navy is harder to get promoted (you have to take a test for every rank) but once you get promoted its much harder to lose a stripe. The Army and Marines hae guys going up and down in rank constantly.
The Air Force rank system is slow you will take a long time to get any high level of promotios but you have less chance of losing rank there too. So - final analysis, the Navy is a little looser, more fun, you have more responsibility and if you can handle it you can do well.

It depends. All military service has it's good and bad points. The Navy is different from the other services in that you are going to be away from your family aboard ship for some time (it varies). The Navy has also been tasked recently to back fill the Marines and Army by taking some of their roles in Iraq on the ground.

The positives are that in 20 years you can leave with a retirement (not usually available in the civilian world) and almost certainly get a civilian job to supplement your retirement.

I'm not sure about today's Navy....but when I was in I had a ball. You see a lot more places and learn a lot more things in the Navy than any other branch. Pick a good field to go into...one that you can use when you get out. That way you have a jump on anyone else entering that type of work.

Joining the Navy was the best thing I ever did. I got to travel all over Asia. When I got out, I joined the Naval Reserve; getting more travel to Europe. I did get mobilized to Kuwait, which was really not that bad.

You bet it sucks. Yeah, the pay is modest compared to the other services but DO NOT BE FOOLED! The Navy doesn't lavish its folk with "good" bases, places to stay, or even food. I regret joining, but it doesn't mean I'm gonna quit before time is up. If I was you, I would join the Air Force. They don't leave for 6 months in 18 month period to make holes in the water. Better chance to get a degree and more fulfilling career there.

My son did not like basic training, but he would have liked the other services' even less. He got good training for two full years and in four years he will be out and can find a good, technical job, plus be able to use the GI Bill.

If you join up, pick your speciality carefully. You sure don't want to wind up in Iraq.

I completely recommend going to a makeup style website by using fact frequently situations they might have large information on while a shade or product is desirable. learn from the pro's. i think of it completely relies upon on your hair shade and dermis tone - or the colour of your lashes. make a journey to a branch save on the mall to bypass to a makeup counter. those chicks take training and get qualified and supply you a make over for unfastened.
