It doesn't need alcohol. Depending upon what else is in your sauce, I would substitute orange juice or apple juice/cider. I don't think they have too much sugar for your mother.

Cranberry Sauce For Diabetics

I believe there are differing medical opinions on diabetics drinking wine. At any rate if the cranberry sauce is cooked the alcohol evaporates. Any good dry red wine will do nicely as you don't need more sweetness. Expect that other fruit is in the recipe and that you have used Splenda and not sugar.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Try adding some Cointreau (about 1/3 cup) per 1 lb bag of simmering cranberries. The alcohol will cook off but the liqueur will leave an exotic citrus-ey accent.

Orange or pineapple juice is what I use as a sub for sweet wines like port. If she can't have that the liquid from a can of mushrooms or chicken stock is another common wine sub.

Does the recipe already call for orange juice? Can she have that? (I don't know about the fruit/sugar thing). Brandy would be my first choice, because that's what I put in mine, but I would assume that's the same problem as port.

There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.

I read this interesting book https://tr.im/ZctiV that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.

I hope it helps
