There could be a number of things wrong. My cat has Periodontal Disease, so last year we had the vet clean his teeth. It was about $230 for the anesthesia, cleaning, extractions (4 teeth), pain meds, and an antibiotic. Depending on what is wrong with your kitty, it may be more or less (obviously). The only way to know for sure is to have her looked at by her vet. He/she will be able to tell you exactly what is going on and what you can do about it. Good luck =)

Not to scare you or anything, but teeth problems such as this can be extremely painful for the cat and cause all sorts of other health problems such as infections, loss of appetite and even kidney damage. You should have this treated without delay. If it is just tarter build up, the cats teeth will need a scaling and cleaning, which has to be done under anesthesia. Could cost anywhere from $100 to 400 depending upon the vet. If any teeth are decayed, they cannot be repaired and must be extracted. Depending upon how many teeth are affected and the facility who does the work, this could cost anywhere between $200-1800. I do not recommend that a general vet extract your cats teeth unless there is no other choice. If possible, use a cat dental specialist only, as cats teeth are extremely complicated to extract properly.

Cat dentals are very expensive where I live (in Johnson County, KS, a suburb of Kansas City). I had my cat's teeth cleaned in May 2014. He came from a hoarding situation and had very bad breath and numerous dental issues when I got him. He was only two years old and did not need pre-surgery blood work. She had to pull four teeth of which three were the incisors (fangs). His breath no longer smells and he is doing great. It did take him about two weeks to feel like himself after the dental since it was major oral surgery with the extractions. Anyway, all this cost me $850. Was it worth it to me? Yes, but I do feel it was overpriced. Other vets in this area charge similarly, unfortunately. I'm sure it's cheaper in other areas of the country.

It costs about 200 bucks in Canada but I don't know where you are. It's good though that you want to get it's teeth fixed. That tooth your talking about is probably very painful and it's probably going to need to be pulled. It's much cheaper if you get the teeth cleaned regularly and it'll save your cat from a whole life of problems from bad gums.

Using gum inflammation is a red line at the bottom of the gum. I have no idea what "gray stuff" could be. Bad breath is a sign of many things. A vet exam is in order and then you will have to go from there.
