no, I'm religious and putting religion into science is like putting speed bumps on a nascar track.

Astrology isn't taught in schools. Because it's a mystical belief system, with ample evidence to show it completely false. Astronomy, on the other hand, is a valid scientific field of inquiry, practiced via the scientific method. It's not a "sacred truth," it's science. Using it we *have* found out a huge number of facts about our planet, solar system, galaxy and universe -- that are demonstrable by evidence. For example, it is a fact that the Andromeda galaxy is (roughly) 2.5 million light years from us. That's not a belief, or a guess -- it's a fact established by literally thousands of pieces of evidence, using the scientific method. Astrology, meanwhile, will tell you that the constellation Andromeda can influence your sex life -- something for which there is no evidence of any kind. Peace.

I'm not going to get into whether astrology is a valid science or not, there is no point. However, astrology and astronomy only have one thing in common, and that is that they both are centered on celestial bodies. But really, astrology is not ABOUT the celestial bodies, it takes into account the location, type, and movement of such and makes predictions. Astronomy is ABOUT the bodies, what they are made of, how they move, what forces make them do what they do and so on. So this question is like saying shouldn't our kids be taught that oranges taste good instead of how to grow oranges. Only vaguely related subjects....

Probably not, since astrology hasn't aligned itself with the universal shift in the last 2500 yrs. Everything is in motion, so things have changed and astrology hasn't taken many of those shifts into its systems.
Though astrology is a good source to use when doing personal reflection or inner work. Its a way to get a 'starting point'.
Besides, children really don't need either. For many children, they are satisfied with knowing the names of the planets and a couple of stars.

If I were you I would go with astronomy. I believe Astrology is a bunch of random Ideas that could really fit into any ones life. Astronomy is interesting, beautiful, and real. Just my opinion.

Take a course in astronomy. Nothing is where it was or follows the exact same path. Constellations are a product of someone's imagination and are actually characterized differently by different cultures. Our entire system is moving at high velocity toward the outside of the galaxy, and relative to other systems and the galaxy is moving at high velocity relative to others.
Astrology is bunk.
