This is a great question! When I finally climbed the corporate ladder and maxed out my earning potential in a certain position, I didn't tell my parents because I made more than both of them put together. I didn't want to seem as if I was gloating and while they may have been proud, it may have hurt them. They both worked very hard to provide for myself and my siblings...I just didn't want to hurt them. If they asked, I would tell them but it isn't an issue. They know I have the means to live a secure life and help those around me-that's enough for them.

Congratulations on the job. I would only tell the parents if I fell into this criteria; the job didn't pay a lot and you took it to gain experience in a certain field to make a ton more in a couple of years and might need their help making ends meet in the short term. Beyond that, I believe it is your business.

Graduating from what. If you got a PHD, and now you are making the same or more than both of your parents..I am sure that that's why they sent you to school.
if you are some high school kid, I HIGHLY doubt that you are making even as much as 1/2 of ONE parent.

Who paid for your college? You or them? If they did, what will it hurt, unless you plan on milking them for $$$ if you need it.
If your salary stinks tell them. It it blows their combined salary out of the water, still tell them, but tell them thank you for raising you with good values and study habits, pushing you to work hard in high school.
Your parents will want you to do better than they did.
But if you are barely making minimum wage, that is okay too. That is what entry level positions do for you.
But I presume you are making decent cash.
If so, congrats!

They may be happy for you, but it depends on what kind of parents you have. If you think they will ask for money a lot, set money aside or just don't tell them.

If you want to, sure. If you do not want to, I would not do it. You are an adult and the decision is up to you.
