Our dumbo girl is still growing but she seems petite compared to our top-eared hooded girl & most of the other female rats I've known except for our hairless, who is also on the small side. I've only seen pictures of other dumbo rats but it doesn't seem as if they'd be significantly smaller than top-eared rats.
Flower Power's response gave me a giggle-- the 1st time I heard of dumbo rats was on an online forum & I wondered why someone was "insulting" her newly-adopted rats' intelligence! I had no idea that "dumbo" is a reference for ear placement ;-)

Okaaay that other answer was dumb. Dumbos are cute! I have 2 rats that are both part dumbo (dumbo/rex & dumbo/blue). Mine are small for full grown rats though... About the size of a regular fancy rat. I've seen them a bit bigger but not much so I'd say about the same. Mine are female sooo I guess maybe that's why they're smaller.

why do you call a rat dumbo if you just got one? Your the dumbo for calling a rat a dumbo! A full grown rat is about: 10 1/2 inches (plus tail)
