Hebrews 11:1 - Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.
Faith is based on evidence. Faith is based on hope of the reality of things that have not yet been observed, but are nonetheless real.
I have faith because I have evidence.

Faith is believeing in something that you can't physically know for sure, but that doesn't mean it can't be based on evidence.
Think of it this way. You are crossing a river, equal distance to the other side at all parts of the river. You have lot of different stone paths that will lead you to a certain point, but none all tha way to the other side. These represent the religions (including athiesm as a religion for this example). The smartest way to get where you need to go is to pick the path that gets you closest to the other river bank. This other bank represents the truth. This is like choosing a religion. We need to find the path that has the most evidence towards it, but no matter what path we take we are going to have to take that final leap of faith.
I am a Christian because I have found a lot of evidence supporting my faith, archeological, historical, scientific and logical evidence.

Well faith isn't just applyed to religion, I have faith in my truck in the aspect that it will get me to and from two points. Faith can be earned through experience. I have faith in things seen and unseen. Faith can be that of believing with out seeing. Or as simple as I have faith in my dog coming when I call him. Faith and believing in someone, thing or therory is basically a gamble. However, just like the lottery, faith can let you down. But that doesn't mean faith should be lost forever. Faith can be reset and reassigned. A good example is I had faith in one religious belief till I found it misleading. However I now have faith in something I have found to be more true to my nature. Hope this answered your Question. BB Sdw

Faith is basically trust, or a belief without proof. I have faith that God exists and there is a afterlife. I have experienced the presence of God through prayer, but I'm not able to prove this to others, even though I know it is God who answers my prayers.
In another way, although I have never seen an atom or molecule I have faith that it exists because scientists say so.

Faith? It is believing in something that everything/one else says isn't real, yet deep down in your soul, heart (whatever) you know it is real! I have FAITH that there is a better life for all that will be the reason for all we suffer in this life! I also believe that there are many paths, not just that of Christians in order to get there! I have FAITH in this!

To me, faith is a cop-out answer whenever an attempted arguement based on reason and evidence fails. Anything can be justified by faith, so faith ultimately justifies nothing.

Faith is a name used by females in some English speaking western countries. I don't have Faith, and I'm slightly troubled by your accusations. I'm not keeping her in anything.

Faith is believing, rather than doing. The Bible says "the righteousness by faith shall live". When we believe we are righteous by faith in Jesus, we shall live (or find life).
Faith is taking from God. When Jesus gently corrected His disciples by saying, "O you of little faith" at the Mount of Beatitudes. He was saying to them in effect, "Why do you take so little? Your heavenly Father has abundance of provisions for you, so do not worry. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." When we take His gift of righteousness, we will enjoy His peace and joy. And our God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Faith is resting in the finished work of Jesus Christ. The writer of Hebrews explained that those people of Israel in the past did not enter the promised land because of their unbelief. So we are exhorted to make every effort to enter that rest. Our "rest" today is believing that Jesus Christ has finished His work of redemption at the cross. Our part is simply to rest and receive all the blessings He died to give us - health, healing, provisions, deliverance, protection, etc. It will cause us to be a blessing to others, as an overflow of His love.
