Fundy Christians reap what they sow. they're aggressive and hostile so the reap aggression and hostility. they're aggressive and hostile because they are intolerant and fearful of anyone who is not like themselves. they're fearful and intolerant because they have a simple minded black/white, good/evil, either/or, "with me or against me" mentality. they have this simple minded mentality because it's just so much easier than really thinking.

Hello when I say this please believe me I am not now nor have I ever felt threaten by non believers.Because I am very secure in my beliefs, I don't waste my time calling names making fun or any of that kind of stuff, someone does not to think like me.I have read some really terrible things said on here about people just because they think and feel different about something.weather you are christian or not what does that have to do with RESPECT. I have listen to Christians and non have a conversation there was no insults just people sharing their views. And because I believe then I believe Matthew 5: 11-12 Blessed are you when people insult you persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in heaven for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Happy Holidays

Why do atheist seem to think that there false claims, and attempts to upset God Fearing Christians mean that we feel threatened by them. The real answer is that atheist threaten Christians because they are scared that Christians are right and they are wrong, Why else would they bring up such nonsence, and make such false claims. I don't see Christians on here making false claims against atheist, but every day i see some poor atheist make some false claim against Christians. Atheist should check there facts, and not just run at the mouth, that way when they make a claim, they arent just putting there foot in there mouth. Just like you did right now with this question. One thing that I can say about atheist is that they deffently are flexible, they can put there foot in there mouth, and have there head up there *** at the same time, maybe a new olympic sport.

That's a nice mixture of words you have going there. I don't know where you would get the idea that Christians are afraid of atheists. I have been close enough to the thought process myself that I have an awareness of how impotent it is. There is no horde of atheists beating at my door and threatening me. I study and observe the same things they do as each day goes by, many times reaching similar conclusions about much of it.
It is good that you understand this thing called faith. Those who are totally lost refuse to even discuss it for fear of losing themselves, somehow, to a trick or baser instinct of some sort. They find it difficult to maintain their comfortable position when faced with the sort of evidence that generates from within instead of without. It has a tendency to tell them they are wrong, and nobody likes that. I sincerely hope you keep your attention there for a while, allowing the evidence that leads to more faith to take its rightful place in your life. Peace.

I think the non-believers seem more threatening but they may also feel threatened by true believers which is why many non-believers speak out.
It's true that those who are content stay silent while the discontented make noises.
No matter how strong the christian faith is, believers will still have doubts and that's why it seems like the non-believers are stronger in their cause.
So, never have doubts and your faith will become stronger and complete. Just like the non-believers who are extremely adamant and influential.

ok, first of all, who ever said that we were threatened by atheists...? our goal on earth is to help others, not ourselves. you are setting up christians in this question by contradicting yourself. we are here to help you, and if you think that we are weird, psycho, and weak people that only care about ourselves, then get over yourself. sorry, but honestly, we are trying to help you, and if you think we are wrong, how are we to get you to believe us? think i'm an easy target? go for it. we're not weak, and we try to love everyone, and since you used a quote from the bible, maybe you'll remember a phrase that is quoted throughout the WHOLE BOOK, we ARE sinners too, we make mistakes, and we are no better than anyone else. we are all equal, christians are just trying to save others who don't quite realize the problem that everyone faces in their lifetime. am i weak? are we weak? well, that's your opinion, but maybe next time you shouldn't write such a biased question and expect people to fall for it. my point: how are christians supposed to get others involved in the word WITHOUT being liked by those around them???? seriously, we care about what others think because we want you to understand the truth, and i hope one day you do. God Bless You

Honestly I dont feel threatened by the rise of atheism. I mean I am very sucure with my faith. I feel sad, I admit, when I hear legislations that seek to destroy my beliefs (abortion, et al) and would fight against it - not because I dont respect other people's opinion rather it is in my duty as a Christian to oppose it. I think its in the same way atheist oppose prayers in public spaces as well.
I believe your questions stems from the fact that fundamentalist christians are so damn forceful in their beliefs that they dont go easy on judging people. and that is not good.

I am an atheist, and I don't threaten anyone, least of all christians.
I would think it highly offensive for christians to think of atheists as their "ennemies" or that atheists "hate" them.
It would be a very good sign of the weakness in them if they thought of atheists in that way.
I believe in live and let live, and leave everyone alone.

I consider myself a "Christian" and there is one thing that annoys me about other "so called" Christians. They constantly ignore one of Jesus' edicts. He said, giving his disciples instructions, and I paraphrase, "If you go into a village and the people who live there reject what you have to say, once you have said it, leave and shake the dust off your feet when you go." You leave the message and then leave. Either those people believe or they don't. In any case, Christians must never pound their belief. Say it once and move on. Bottom line, once the word is out, the burdon is on the hearer. "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." Past that point, you did your job, leave your fate to God and move on.

O how smug...
True Christians aren't "threatened" by athiests, but being TRUE, we are filled with the love and the spirit of God and as is always His heart; we are compelled to reach out to your lost soul. It is the very true love within us that would try ONE MORE TIME to show and tell you about what is the end result of rebellion against your Creator, who isn't wanting you or anyone to be lost, but for ALL to come to repentance.
Smile, you're on candid camera!!
Faith means no matter how much you insult us, harrass us, berate us or say NO to our pleading with you to be reasonable and listen with your heart instead of your brain.., we KNOW that what you say and what we see is only temporary and the faith God has measured to everyone of His children says I don't go on what I see, but on what I have heard God say! One thing God said is, "Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, and knock and it wil be opened to you".., SO we keep knocking on your hard head and seeking your limited understanding and ASKING God to give us ONE MORE OPPORTUNITY to reach you before you die!
GOT IT!?
We don't want you to be another poor lost Lamb... your question is absurd to a true Christian..., we KNOW what you don't even suspect and greatly fear!

though 'Peter' also said that faith is but a FIRST step...
2 Peter 1:5-7 For this very reason make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.
The 'none believers' have always threatened the 'faithful' that is why they have killed them. For centuries, Christians literally did kill none christians. Though now a days, with more governmental laws they have to just content themselves with just condemning them to hell. The standard CONVERT OR DIE motto.
Though one should note that convertion is listed as an abomination to god, Deuteronomy 13. It just giving people an OTHER god----which is defined as a god that a person personally has not known or a god that was unknown to a persons fore fathers. Essentially, going with the concept that god is everywhere. If a missionary has to go somewhere and show someone their god, is that god really everywhere?
EXO 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?
