THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN. IF YOU HAPPEN TO HAVE SUCH HUGE AMOUNTS OF TARTAR (aka, calculus) THAT IT PRACTICALLY ACTS AS A BRIDGE FOR YOUR TEETH, IT WILL CLING TENACIOUSLY TO THE TEETH.
IT MUST BE REMOVED BY A HYGIENIST/DENTIST WITH VERY SPECIAL INSTRUMENTS.
DO NOT TRY THIS WITH ANY TOOL YOURSELF.

Hi! No it can not. Once it has calcified, you need a professional to remove it. This is a normal part of the plaque sequence when it is not removed with daily brushing and flossing. Once you have it removed, speak to you dentist about a proper way to brush, floss and use a fluoride rinse to prevent this. Please don't try to remove it yourself as you can damage the delicate gum tissue and cause a problem. And don't beat yourself up, everyone gets this at some point and it is normal. Some people just have a tendency to be more prone than others. It has alot to do with the acidity of the mouth, genetics and diet. If you have any other questions, please ask. M
