If she married a man 10 years younger than her in the late 1800's, she was either fabulously wealthy or the best cook in four counties. Are you sure about both of those years? If one was a typo, it might explain your problem. I am not trying to be sarcastic; the pattern for first wives in that time period was 0 - 5 years younger than the husband, and for second wives, up to 30 years younger. Sexist dogs they were, true, but that was the pattern.

I never rely on just one source for a fact. With my luck, there are 4 documents for the same info... and the odds are, I'd pick the wrong one.
In other words.. I suspect you need to pick up more records from later on (as many censuses as you can, marriage record, obit, whatever you possibly can find.) It might even happen that one of her parents is living with her, down the line.
After a while, you come to EXPECT that several records will have contradictions. Then, you compare them... and the 'bad' answer will stand out. I have to agree with Ted on this..the age difference strongly suggests that someone's dates are off.
