My ex bf that I broke up with about 4 years ago has been messaging me online for the past week and talking to me like we talk all the time but the thing is we really dont!!! Our conversation was pretty typical besides the fact that he would add in comments about missing certain elements of our relationships. He has a gf (the only one he'd had after being with me) and I have a bf ( ive had many since being with him)

I broke up with him but we went out for about 3 years.

Do you think hes just being nice?? Maybe he needs advice??

It's just surprising that he all the sudden contacted me again... maybe im over analyzing....

I really have no desire to pursue anything besides a friendship with my ex... his intentions are beyond me. I'm not married so who I talk to as far as I'm concerned: everyone is fair game.

Don't read to much into it. I've learned from experience that it doesn't mean anything. Old boyfriends and girlfriends will contact each other every blue moon or so, it doesn't mean anything. Remember, he's your ex for a reason.

Sounds like he is not being nice - at least not to his current gf.

I think his gf is trying to get him to commit on a more serious level and he is getting cold feet - he is contacting you (and maybe other old gfs) to see if he is really ready to tie up any old loose ends. Some guys and girls contact old flames just to see if they still "have it" and to see if they are still attractive to other people.

Since you have not been friends for years, then there is no need to strike up a new friendship now. That is disrespectful to his gf and your current bf. Does HE know your in touch with an old love?

Same thing happened to me...DONT get involved with him. Guys just want to rekindle the relationship and maybe some sex... i would just tell him " I would like to be friends, but that's all." just make it known to him your true feelings. Good Luck!

IDK, it's kind of weird, but I guess once you love someone you always think about them. Just don't talk to him so much that it looks like you're cheating. You might even want to tell you boyfriend so he doesn't become jealous over nothing.

He needs an ego boost and you're giving him one.
