It will likely always remain a theory. No matter how far and well anyone digs, there are no links. This is why some scientists are more seriously adding the idea of Intelligent Design, considering that instead of links to a common ancestor, they find this species or that when there was none before.

What I see is a theory built with other theories. For example, this species is a little like that one, so they may be related, or this one is the ancestor of this one. But, they have nothing to link it all together, showing the progression. All theory and no concrete evidence linking anything together.

I did read, however, that the Big Bang Theory is very close to how God created the earth - there was nothing, then something. If I am not mistaken, this is an idea still being studied.

I'm a Christian and I believe intelligent design/creationism and evolution could have co-existed in the beginning. Why not! Although I say this, I will always side without question with intelligent design; but like it says in the bible "ANYTHING WITH GOD IS POSSIBLE".
There are many things in the World/Universe that scientist and theologians don't have answers to.
What prove is there that both couldn't have existed, either on the same time or during different stages of life. My point is that science was given to us by our Creator for man to study all in earth and develop our technology to reveal the many wonders He created for us to marvel in and bring out the many resources for the better of the human race.
It is said in the Bible that many secrets will be reveal in the end of time either from science or from revelations.

GOD BLESS! AMEN! SHALOM!

Evolution hasn't been proven to ME any more than Creationism has. But, I refuse to believe that humans and all of the intricate beauties in nature happened by "accident"!
