yes it is a muscle car. Even though a muscle car by definition is a two door car that has a engine larger than needed purely built for hp rating the police interceptor is a four door too and a formidable muscle car . sounds like a good combo lots of fun with room for white knuckle passengers.

i'd personally call it a muscle car and for that one person that said a pony would never be a muscle car i would love to see him run against me in his rice burner at the drag strip a 9 second pony would change his aspect on what a muscle car is, but yes over all with that horse power even being a 4 door would call a muscle car i had a grand am (97) but it would run 12's in the 1/4 and susprise a lot of people, alot depends on the driver, its about how you drive the car, not just the car, the car could be slow with a bad drive but fast with a good driver...if that makes sense, its really about the person driving in my opinion

Muscle car, no. A very powerful sedan, yes.
Muscle cars of yesteryear were uncivilized, gas swilling, asphalt buckling, tire shredding, parts breaking, poorly muffled, poor handling, with 3400 lb clutches that made your leg shake at the traffic signal, that went like stink in a straight line and sometimes were not too comfortable a means of transportation. They needed constant attention to remain all of the above and the baby boomers that could afford these cars lived for the weekend to shred tires, buckle asphalt, and break parts during post midnight drag races on dark stretches of road outside the town/city limits. Muscle cars had to be tamed and kept under control, no talking on the cell phone, eating, drinking or playing with the CD player. Driving a muscle car was a full time job when you were behind the wheel, you were easy with the throttle on wet roads or else you were sideways or worse.
Cars today are civilized with traction controls, computerized engine management and hydraulic clutches, powerful cars but not muscle cars!

i cant look at the newer chargers as muscle cars, anything that has 4 doors to me cant be considered to be a true muscle car, dodge messed up bad when they made the charger a 4 door, had they kept it a 2 door sports car it would be considered a really nice car, ,like the older ones, you don't see any 4 door mustangs or corvettes ,they should have kept this a 2 door car, then it would have been a true muscle car,i bet its a sweet ride though,it would have to be with all that on it,but not a true muscle car, good luck.

Guess I would call it a muscle car. Who cares, just drive it and have fun. It will probably lay rubber for 2 blocks, so that qualifies as a muscle car for me! I would rather call that a muscle car than a Mustang. It drives me nuts when people refer to Mustangs as a musclecar. It never was. It is a pony car, the original one.

The 1995 Camaro has absolutely nothing in common with the 1969 Camaro. They are slow, ugly and poorly built. A Civic Si can out run a 1995 Camaro.

I say yes, but who cares? I mean, are you planning to buy some "muscle car" stickers? It's just a label, you know. Labels don't get you home.
