It seems to me that younger girls, usually around the ages of 14-17 are more attracted to older guys around the ages of 18-24. Is there a certain reason for this, or is it a fluke?

Most 14 - 17 age boys are at the peak of their financial dependence on some one else for their entertainment expenses. Consequently they can not spend as much money on dates as older guys unless their parents are wealthy and liberal with spending money. Younger boys don`t know how to respond to flirtations like the older ones do. The male age group from 18 to 24 don`t have any thing that haunts their mind like the anticipation of their next sexual encounter so what they do is response favorably to the smallest encouragement from the opposite sex. Girls 14 - 18 enjoy this desirable but unfamiliar attention and thus are attracted to the older boys. Younger boys spend their time acting like they have plenty of girls at their disposal while the older boys are making planes and taking action to get one of those girls that the younger boys thought would be available and untouched forever.

nope its not a fluke... and even as girls get older like late 20's and 30's we still tend to like and go after the older guys,,,
why ?
In general its because they are more mature and more expierienced..
guys mature at a much slower rate than girls, so the older they are then they sorta match up to the maturity rate of the girl thats after them.
like a 22 yr old girl and a 28 yr old guy - at that point the guy is more like 22/23 in his maturity level

Because all the people there age are immature idiots who juss dont have a clue. So they go after the older guys who seem slightly more insightful and less.....well lets put it this way they are mature enough not to laugh when someone says dodo....coming from the freshman who hangs out with seniors because everyone she knows is an idiot

Mentally and emotionally, girls mature faster than boys. So, the boys who are their age (14-17) are not their mental and emotional equals. They are still too immature for the girls of the same age. It all balances out once everyone is into their 20's.

Put simply. Girls mature faster than boys. Boys around their age are jerks and of course girls naturally go for more stable older brother like influences.

Old fashion guys sounds like the domineering type to me coz old fashion usually means someone who decides on everything and expect the woman to submit. If he decides on A, it means A. So if thats the type of old fashion I would say no thanks. Its not like I am a rebel. But most guys made stupid decision in life and I am not about to let myself being pulled down that way or being forced into doing something I do not wish to do. Old fashion guys make their woman sell banana fritters to make ends meet. Or they will sell her gold for money every other day. Modern guys sounds like someone who are more romantic, understanding and balanced when it comes to handling modern women. They will let their woman decide on what is best for her but at the same time will not abandon her emotionally or financially. They too open the door and pull chair for ladies. I'd say no to old fashion guys. These type of guys are still around in our community. They make women pay bills to support their lazy lifestyle.

I think that we are looking maturity. Someone to teach us. I know when I was that age I always dated guys for those reasons. It's just that most guys that young age are childish and a lot of girls mature fast and they get over that kiddie act very quick.

We want mature guys! Most of us have seen through the immature guys at our schools and are over it! Personally i only date older guys. I was with a guy who was 21 when i was 15

I am 28 and want to be with a guy much older than myself because they seem to appreciate women more....they seem to be out of that party phase and are looking for more in a woman that just a good screw.

I would like to think older men are always better. They are more experienced, more stable, have more money, more patience.
But again, I am biased!!! This may be just wishful thinking on my part!!! :)
