We have a wii. I have 2 girls (13 and 10) and was thinking about getting a PS2 and Rock Band for them. Is that excessive? Worth it? They like Guitar Hero.

I think that would be a great idea. Especially sense they just released the new 150$ SingStar pack.

Its a slim white ps2 that comes with the SingStar pop game with two free microphones.
I think this would be absolutely perfect for your two girls.
Plus, the ps2 has Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, Guitar Hero & Guitar Hero II Dual Pack, and the all new Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
And like you said Rock Band as well. So, you have your options.
I think your kids would just love it and the ps2 has just so many great games and are still coming out with even more. Not only that but it's cheap and the games are quite inexpensive at this point. It almost fits your needs perfectly wouldn’t you say? : )

Yes, it would be good to buy a PS2 for them. Currently over 2000 games were made for the PS2, the only downside is that soon game developers will stop making games for the PS2 in maybe another year.
Also, many stores don't sell that many PS2 games anymore, they mostly sell PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, PSP, and Nintendo DS games. But many stores always have the newer PS2 games for sale in their stores like Rock Band, and Guitar Hero.
But, you can buy older games online for the PS2 for about $20 bucks brand new. The PS2 has a very large game library to last them for a long time

Well I have no kids and I am only 15 but I like the fact that you are letting you kids have fun and enjoy life. I will have to say a PS2 is a wonderful system especially for kids their age. Guitar Hero 2 is a great game for them as well. It actually teaches hand eye coordination to them which is fantastic. As the answer to your question I would venture to say buying them a PS2 and Guitar Hero is not excessive and it is worth it!

Yea. Good deal. There might be a price drop for the ps2 early next year from $120 to $99. Good thing they put it on the PS2 also.

If they have Guitar Hero on PS3, get that instead. That's more worth it. It's good that the price on those things have come down tremendously!

You needless to say are somewhat at the back of my buddy, you could purchase the "next-gen" gaming gadget quite of the older ps2 or fagcube. in case you cant cope with to pay for it acceptable now, then sustain or your formally a retard.

yeah it's ok. it's only about $200 it's alright not too expensive
