My Bible teacher told me the Roman Empire fell when they started accepting homosexuality. Then there is Sodom and Gommorrah. What kind of impact do you think sex outside of marriage has on society in general if it is practiced in mass amounts ?

Your bible teacher is full of crap. The fall of the Roman Empire was not the result of homosexuality. It's just a scare tactic. Don't buy all the propaganda.

Social illnesses including deadly ones like AIDES are part of the impact sex outside of marriage has on society in general, if it is practiced in mass amounts...tainting the blood supply, and endangering health care workers & rescue personnel.

Divorce, seperation, unhappy marriages, protective orders, shared custody and/or visitation rights legal problems, tears and the heart break of broken marriages plague a nation of adulterers!

James Dobson of Focus on the Family notes that "you could have polygamy. You could have incest. You could have marriage between a father and a daughter."

"You could have two widows, or two sisters or two brothers."

Dobson further warned, "Once you cross that Rubicon, then there's no place to stop."

"Because if a judge can say two men and two women can marry, there is no reason on Earth why some judge some place is not going to say, this is NOT fair."

Marriages could be between:
"Three women or three men, or five and two or five and five."

With what attitudes are we to approach the study of the Bible?
This world hasn't changed much since those days. The impact of sex outside of marriage is not looked down upon as much as it was then, so that is why it is practiced in mass amounts.

As we become a more open society, I hope it will have the impact of making us more mature and unafraid of our bodies. Europeans think we are silly prudes. I have to agree. I've watched a TV show where a guy took off his shirt on TV. No problem. No grayed out areas, no blur. This same gentleman had implants put in on a bet. Same chest, same skin, everything, only now because the chest has implants, the nipple area is blurred out. Next comes a rather overweight gentleman whose breast area is easily larger than the man with the implants. Guess what? No blur. Go figure. Now go to another channel and watch a husband kill his wife and family, cut them up in little pieces, and grinds them up. Later he serves them as hamburgers at a party.

Tell me which has the worse impact on a society? Are we becoming more loving toward others or more violent?

The Roman Empire did not fall due to its acceptance of homosexuality. Before accepting such a statement you should research why it did actually fall.

Many societies exist and have existed that accept or even encourage sex out of their definition of marriage. In reality, our society has always had various forms of sex outside of marrige to a great extent, it just was not widely talked about.

what if there are people who are beyond a "lawful" marriage?
my lover and i have a connection that we both know marriage would not bond any tighter or make any better than it is. it is the deepest thing we have either experienced. our "marriage" or bonding experiences have been most apparent in our use of psychedelics together. we have reached into each others minds bodies and souls. we are expecting our first child together. we don't need marriage to make things better. so my point is, for some people, marriage is not an issue. others may abuse the system though. but they are not in the wrong for what they do.

The Roman Empire fell because they were open-minded? lol your Bible teacher's grasp of history seems to be atrocious at best.

I'm personally fine with [responsible as in not whoring yourself] sex outside of marriage. It's healthy to be sexually active (assuming you practice safe sex), and what about the people who never get married? I think it's important to keep an open mind, and not rely on biblical stories (or any other mythology) to dictate your opinion.

As our society continues to accept premarital sex, homosexual sex, and many other things, we will continue to see a rise in teen pregnancy, in abortion, in crime, and rape, and the destruction of the family. As our society continues to pull away from God's Word on how we should live, it slide more into darkness. People become more "me" orientated, and things continue to worsen.

We as a culture would be so much better if we could turn our morals around to a Biblical aspect of marriage, mothers at home where they should be, caring for kids adn husbands, kids coming home to a parent, and spending time at a meal each night. We are so materialistic and satan is workign so hard in the US right now, we are blind.

God bless.

The Roman Empire fell when they became so big that they split it into two sections governed by two different people, who only took orders from the Emperor.

I don't believe it has any effect.
marriage is just a piece of paper.
If I am married and having sex with my husband or if i am not married but am having sex with my partner of 30 years has no barring on society.
