It never crossed the road..Chickens are stupid animals and if they try to cross the road most likely someone ran over them..Now the saying is the chicken crossed the road to get to the other side...

To get to the other side. Okay, you asked for no joking so I'll be serious. I PERSONALLY think that the chicken crossed the road because you know how chickens just strut around in circles, looping paths randomly all over the yard? Maybe this particular chicken was on the side of the road and he went guk-guk-guk-guk aimlessly around and happened to cross the road in front of him. That's what chickens do. That's why (according to me :] )

beacuse he wanted to. damn, why is everyone so obsesed with a chicken crossing a road? maybe there was some hot *** rooster on the other side and she felt lucky that day. or a worm was there. go read or something.
