God the Father said plainly in the longest of the 10 Commandments!

Exodus 20:8-11
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy... Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."
=============================================

Saint Paul totally disregards the holiness of ANY HOLY DAY and leaves it up for the individual Christian to decide!

Romans 14:5-6
One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord.

Obviously there are no absolutes in the Bible... It is all up to the individual Christian to decide! Hey, what about abortion? Same sex marriage? and so on... Why isn't the same Biblical principle of free choice applicable in every case?

My question is not about the Sabbath, but on so many other "for ever" pronouncements that are contradicted in the New Testament, "under grace"...

Well God didn't write the Bible and neither did Jesus, but history said Paul got to edit large chunks of it, so I guess he has the most influence. (God got to throw Paul off his horse so I guess he has influence there). Muslims have it better, their Prophet transcribed the actual word of God. Actually they don't have it better, they've never stopped arguing about ever since, and because it is the actual word of God they have to memorise the whole book. At least Christians get a better use of school time...

Lazar,
Excellent question, that is one question that many Christians are afraid to ask.I will answer this in regards to the sabbath due to the amount of room needed to give you the complete answer.
In a nutshell...
The Old Testament was primarily written to the Jews and the Jews alone. In that time God met with them in the Tabernacle at first then the Temple once it was constructed.

Remember this the temple was a building

After the death of Christ the Jews rejected Jesus as their messiah, so he went to us the Gentiles.

When we accept Christ and believe on Him as our Savior WE become the Temple of God, He lives in us.

Paul said any day is fine because we are to constantly be mindful of the presence of God in us.

As far as absolutes in the Bible, there are absolutes according to who He is dealing with at that time. OT to the Jews. The Pauline epistles are to us as far as how we should live and please God. Paul is telling us what Jesus gave him to give us.

When the Jews rejected Christ in Acts 7, God went to us to make them jealous. Now when a Jew or Gentile accepts Christ they become part of the "Church". under a completely different set of rules.

If I can help more let me know, drop me a email. There is really too much info. to put here in this forum.

You have taken Romans 14:5-6 out of context. Start reading in Romans 14:1and read through 14:6. The question was about fast days, not which day to worship.

Of course God is the ultimate authority--after all He is the creator of the heavens and the earth and everything in them. Even the angels are created beings. God created Paul--how could Paul have more authority than God? God bestowed on Jesus all authority in Heaven and Earth. God the father and Jesus are one--holy, righteous, and sinless. No one else can compare. It is obviously pleasing to God to follow his commandments, but salvation is through Jesus Christ and no other. Observing certain religious days, etc. will not buy you a "ticket" into Heaven.

@SPL Texas re: "Jesus taught interior the scriptures that the Holy Spirit will teach us all issues!" So why do Protestants have preachers? Why won't be able to Protestants agree? Why is the Holy Spirit telling one Protestant one difficulty and yet another Protestant something else?

Exodus was written to the Jews under the law. Romans was written to Christians under grace.

Hermeneutics.....learn what that word means, then do it.

God spoke through the apostles and prophets. There is no conflict between the two. Jesus said, "He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."
