Alright, so about four or five days ago, my new computer got a little wacky. For one thing, I could only log on to my desktop account, the three other accounts I share with my family just go black and do nothing. Then, the Security Center thing said that Windows Defender is off and I have no virus protector program. I have AVG on this computer and whenever I try to turn Windows Defender back on, it says Security Center is updating definitions, and then it says there was none and leaves it off. After that, mp3 files and programs that use mp3 as sound did not work. I tried with Movie Maker, Itunes, and Media Player, and when I pressed the play button, nothing really happens. The little ticker doesn't move, you cannot skip or go back to another song, nothing. And when I tried to get help online and messed around with it, I now cannot play any sound! It says the sound input on Management is working fine, and I don't know how to fix it. Any answers to these problems would help out a lot!

have you clicked on to AVG for regular updates.? maybe you have a virus or worm or trojan that is trying to stop your security set up. Run full scans on Windows defender and AVG.
A-squared is also free and will kill trojans..and run along happily with avg and windows defender. Update, update and scan scan scan.
Find Windows defender in your programs..open it and check to see if it is on or off. Make sure your firewall accepts all your security progs...always look for updates..and always scan..full scan.

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. CCleaner also fixes your registry. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware.

You can download cleaner for free here http://bit.ly/1kGZmoH

Do you have Windows Vista or XP?
Definitely back up any files you have on there that you would cry if you had to reinstall the OS. And ask your fam, the ones who use the computer if there were any strange files they downloaded, especially recently, or if there was any point the computer crashed for no apparent reason.
Also ask them if any of them have been playing with the sound settings for any reason.

Good luck!

See it is a problem of drivers in sharing accounts u must have install driver of sound or if installed than u must have to control through control panel. other avg mostly not support so windows show security turn off so please try bit defender free edition or avast antivirus as my opinion. both are free to download and use.u have to seprete all account by resolution if u have created that type. other wise againcreate all accounts.

What a bad day!!

It seems that your computer has both hardware and software problems.

Since it is new, I would demand a new machine to replace that machine. (Dell would definitely do this) Ask your supplier!!

If not, you may try download Java Runtime Environment from java.com, which can enhance all software activities.

If the sound card still no work, try to place it in other slot or try control panel-> system management tools -> computer management-> hardware management tools you can see all activated hardware. If not just activate them.

You can do a few things:

1. Restore to a previous date

2. Boot to Safe Mode (hold F8 while booting up, choose Safe Mode from the Start Menu)

Here's what to do:

Take a sledge hammer and smash your computer! BUY A MAC! THEY DON'T GET VIRUSES OR HAVE THOSE PROBLEMS! They are worth every penny....
