First thing I have to say is I am very sorry about your loss. The death of a companion is hard and I never heard of a fast way to get over it. When a dog or puppy gets ill, due to their inadequate immune system, they need to be seen by a Doctor. If this is your first dog you might not have known this. Sweetheart there no quick fixes for this hurt, this takes time. Although to try and help the other puppies is a plus on your side and helps you mind to think of something else. When you said that you would take the women to court, just make sure she knew that the puppies were ill. If the puppies were acting normal then she didn't mean for you to be hurt. The-res also allot of money for an attorney,. and not too many lawyers will take a case like this. All I can say on this is good luck. Don't sit around thinking of your loss, keep yourself busy. Even that ,there will be many tears and long nights, but you will be alright. I went through 4 deaths of my animal in a 6 months and my heart was broken. The puppy knew you loved him so in time , of how long this will last, no one can tell. Try praying to God for our Fathers support, that too will help. Your puppy is with our Father in heaven and He will keep him until you come, that will be many, many years and God won't mind taking care of your puppy. God Bless and stay well.

I'm so sorry but this is why people should always go to a true breeder where all the pups are vet checked, dewormed and the first puppy shots given by a vet not the breeder also next time be very careful if a pup has had a parvo shot make sure it has been at least 5 days before you take it home a lot of people don't know but stress can cause the pup to get what the shot was for with in 72 hours of the shot but you will need to wait at least 6 months and clean everything with water and Clorox mix before bringing a new baby home

My God...what a horrible thing to deal with!

There really isn't any way to make yourself get over the puppy...only time can do that for you.

Just make sure you don't rush into getting a new puppy...you need to let yourself heal from the first one.

It is ridiculous that the lady that sold the puppy to you claimed it was healthy despite the fact it had parvo. From what I understand the mother must have had it, and all the other puppies as well...you need to figure out a way to find her and at least sue her for your money back.

As far as getting a new dog, I must reccomend getting one from a rescue. There are so many homeless dogs out there being put to sleep because they have no one to take care of them, and at the same time people are breeding puppies. Doesn't make sense to me. You will get a perfectly wonderful dog who will realize that you have rescued it and love you even more for that. My little dog Zero is a rescued dog and he is the most wonderful thing ever!

its hard to just get over it!! you need time to mourn! f you dont deal with it now, you may end up dealing with it later in life. just stick it out and wait. it may take a while, i had a pup who had parvo as well, she was a husky. the mother had it and infected all of the pups, and we didnt know it until we took her to the vet! it was sad, and i was very upset!! im sorry for your loss. im glad you are taking action against the person u got the pup from. next time be sure to ask the pup owner some questions, such as if they had there shots, and are they dewormed, etc. you can ask for proof of these things, the person should have records to show you proof, but when you get a puppy u should always take it to the vet to make sure it is alright. good luck and i hope everything goes well!!

i didnt like what zaina had said. its not right to "forget", you need to "remember" the pup.

I am really sorry to hear about your loss.
What you need to do is to not hold your tears back. It's healthy to cry when one is feeling like this... but you cannot do anything about your loss and you must move on... so cry all that you need, and move on. His memory will always remain in your mind... also, make sure you get a healthy dog next time... I am sure you are good at learning your lessons dear. For example, you learnt to state your question clearly here, unlike the other time with all the names... If you want to really get over your loss, learn from your lesson (as you are good at learning from your lessons) and stop reporting people while they don't deserve to be reported because if you keep reporting people and they don't deserve it then your new future puppy might die too!

It's not something that will just go away it will take time for you to heal even if you just had the puppy two day you still get attached. As for this lady who sold you the puppy you should contact the humane society they will go check her out. I would also file a report with the AKC or CKC if she sold them with papers. I would also file a complaint with the Attorney General in your state & by all mean's take her to court. She has no business selling puppies at all. Good luck & I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Don't worry about getting over it fast. Once something has made its way into your heart it's hard to get it out. Remember the love you had for your puppy. When you're ready to get another, find a reputable breeder with health guarantees. Check the AKC's website, find the breed you want, then go to "Breed Club" and find a breeder from there. That's the best way to keep this from ever happening again. I'm so sorry for the loss of your puppy.

You will miss your puppy for quite awhile. I have had 3 dogs in my life that have passed away (mind you they have all lived for about 15-17 years) I still every now and then think of my first dog that passed away when I was only a child. You will never forget them but maybe get another puppy. But this time make sure you check on the place where you buy it from. Try the animal shelters, we got one of our dogs from the pound, and she was checked over by them before she was allowed to come with us. But dont cry anymore. Your puppy is no longer in pain.

Just move on, life will bring surprises don't let that bring you down. Be glad that the dog had at least a chance to live. Get a new pet, or just think of positives and forget the negatives. Be thankful for your life. And this would be the easiest solution. Pray every day, you don't know, maybe someday it will be a family member. No matter who you belive in, still pray. And always look up to god. That dogs in a better place.

You can;t just get over it. all you need is time and that is all you can really do is wait and think about the fact the she is in a better place now. I know it is sad to put such a young life down but Parvo is serious and it tears up the intestine so I'm sure she would be happy now that she is not in pain anymore. Think of it that way!!! Good Luck!! :(
