Say that i updated it now will i miss all the features from the past updates?

what i mean is if bought a ps3 and it doesn't have the latest update and I update it will it get all the past features from the old updates?

if you bought a ps3 right now, and let it sit in the box for 5 years, then in 2013 you hook it up and do a update, you will get every update that has ever come out for the system.

I think the new features are just added on and they don't replace the old ones if that's what you mean.
