I am going to school full time, and because I have disability as a veteran and am in a veteran program they are paying for all of my school and give me a subsistence allowance, like a living allowance so that I don't have to work and concentrate solely on school. Do I need to file taxes? If so how do I file, like what form? I have always had W-2's so this is new to me. I want to make sure I do the right thing. Thanks so much!! :)

VA disability pensions and educational assistance are not taxable. If that was your only income for the year there's no need to file.
